"Out beyond ideas of right-doing and wrong-doing there is a field. I'll meet you there." ----- Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Balkhi-Rumi, 13th century Sufi poet.

"Have faith that people do their best. I don't know anyone who would eat with pigs out of a trough in a muddy barnyard if he knew that a well-prepared meal was on the table in a clean house - do you?" Greg Baer

"The Secret in healing Narcissism is not to heal it at all, but to listen to it. Narcissism is a signal that the soul is not being loved sufficiently. The greater the Narcissism, the less love being given." ~ Thomas Moore, 'Care of the Soul'.

Q. Is it really possible to heal NPD?

I have met someone who has made me stop and think about relationships and what it means to interact with others. I'm not sure where this is going but its tickling my brain in a way that feels good.

Free, thanks for the idea - I haven't asked him that. I just heave a sigh of relief when he goes off to school and, if he's in a good mood when he comes home, I don't mention the morning for fear of starting it all up again!

It's sooo great to hear everybody's good news. It sounds like your family is making huge advances talking about healing, Jimmie.

Life, the job seems to be going well - congratulations!

We had a good day today wth both boys being pleasant - at least there was no swearing!!

I'm making a firm committment to myself to stay focused and avoid my usual delay tactics on a project I'm working on this week that I don't want to do. I'd much rather being doing almost anything else, and my history is to allow myself to become distracted much too easily. This is my first new year's resolution. I will stay focused.

I stayed with the task I didn't want to do throughout the day yesterday and was rewarded with a compliment once it was completed. My boss commented that I can drag my feet as well as anyone he knows when I don't want to do something -not sure if this was a compliment-- so he was surprised at how I worked on this. It feels good that its over with and that I did something that challenged me to do something important even if I didn 't want to do it. Now I have time to play. :cookiemonster:

We had a near meltdown in our living room this morning. The exact cause of which is a mystery to me but my son appears to have woken up in a very bad mood. After an hour of near confrontations with everyone in the family he decided it was time to call his therapist and talk about the problem. Ever since he has been in a much better mood. I know we've come a long way as not long ago this kind of bad start to a day would lead to serious problems. Always good to see reasons for hope.

I am thankful for life, health and strength. My family plan to spend tomorrow together eating and [hopefully] laughing and enjoying one another.

Peace & blessings,

Nandi

It is a time for giving thanks and I'm thankful for those who have stayed with me through a very difficult period. I'm very thankful for this community and the people here working toward healing. I'm also thankful I got my hair cut and can see the screen without having to peek between my bangs.

I'm thankful for reaching a place where I think my focus is healing myself and the future rather than worrying about old problems.

I am thankful that I'm going home to Florida to be with my family for Thanksgiving. My son will stay with my husband, which worries me a little because the little guy has a bad cold, but as we worked out our separation contract, it was the only condition he had to my going home for the Thanksgiving holiday, since I will be taking our son to Florida both in January for our late Christmas celebration and in February when my nephew is born. I will try to check in and remember to post my positives, but if I can't, you all have a very happy Thanksgiving.

I am thankful for getting to know a lot of people who are working on their healing. It has been a wonderful year filled with some incredible stories. I'm thankful my family is supportive of my work and I hope we continue to move forward.
