"The Secret in healing Narcissism is not to heal it at all, but to listen to it. Narcissism is a signal that the soul is not being loved sufficiently. The greater the Narcissism, the less love being given." ~ Thomas Moore, 'Care of the Soul'.

Q. Is it really possible to heal NPD?

A. Anything is possible. You do not have to be a negative statistic on a probablity curve of people with Narcissistic Personality Disorder

I also want to share best wishes for the Thanksgiving holiday. I'm thankful for my family and the strength we have found to face this painful journey. Best to everyone during this special time of the year.

I'm thankful for the courage to keep moving forward and for being blessed with three amazing children who guide me through the difficult places in this journey. Such as today when Dad attempts to cook a Thanksgiving dinner. 9-1-1 is on speed dial.

I just had an actual conversation with my husband. We didn't argue, we didn't fight, we agreed on things. It was wonderful. I am trying so hard not to read too much into it. It was just nice! We didn't talk about anything that had to do with the kids or money or the car or anything. He filled me in on his lawsuit (case has been dropped!!!)

Hope everyone is having a great Thanksgiving! Eat lots of Turkey!!

Its been a tolerable day here. My remaining family gathered and we managed to be civilized with each other. Its hard as we're still working through stuff. I am thankful I have a place to be honest that everything is not perfect in my life.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. The best part of the day for me was a conversation I had with my Father in which we managed to stay away from the subject of NPD. We can talk for brief periods without problems developing and that can actually be kind of nice. So hopefully the holiday season is off to a good start.

Well, I made it on to log a positive! Thanksgiving here was fine-- our big meal will be tonight. My sister-in-law, pregnant with their first, looks great, and I just couldn't stop hugging my brother. I forced my dad to talk to me by focusing on something we both like and managed not to get annoyed when he said, "When did you start liking country music?" (I have for years, even as a child, there was just a brief period when I was in high school and college that I didn't like it, which was almost 20 years ago-- hello in there, dad!) My mom listened to me moan about my marriage and my dad worked in their kennel (my mom's business, which is really thriving) so she could. My brother is up for a promotion. Pretty incredible all in all, though it's a little rough to hear the dogs barking-- the kennel is on the same property as their home, they are boarding 54 dogs, and have five of their own! A little tough on guests-- they sleep right through it! Love the holiday decorations for our site-- was this TC's doing? Bye.

I also like the Christmas decorations. Maybe it will inspire me to do something around the house.

We had a calm and very pleasant Thanksgiving. I'm looking forward to the Christmas season more so than I have in a long time because we have come together as a family. I have reason to believe love will guide us and some of the orginal meaning of Christmas might supercede the material nature it has taken for so many years.

I guess the decrorations are a casual reminder that Christmas is here. For the first time in my life I am done with my Christmas shopping and think I'll sleep while others shop. It dosen't get any more positive than that.

Top of the world to everyone. I had a relatively positive Thanksgiving and now I'm thankful we can move forward. I felt less anxiety around my relatives than I can recall having ever felt before. This is definitely a good thing. and one I'm not entirely sure why it happened, but I will not complain.
