"The Secret in healing Narcissism is not to heal it at all, but to listen to it. Narcissism is a signal that the soul is not being loved sufficiently. The greater the Narcissism, the less love being given." ~ Thomas Moore, 'Care of the Soul'.

Happy New Year everyone. It's 12.30pm on January 1st. It's 35c outside and a trip to the pool is probably in order. We had a good New Year with some friends and my eldest son had 4 friends over, 2 of whom stayed the night although he and one of them were crashed out by midnight, snoring their heads off!! The oldies can still teach them a thing or two about partying!!

My New Year's resolution - to work on forgiveness and to keep focused on doing what is best for my sons. I'm looking forward to a year of growth and healing for all of us.

What I wouldn't give to live in a place where you go swimming on New Year's Day. Actually back in Colorado there was a group of insane people who go for a swim in Boulder Resevoir every New Year's. Of course these people are all worse off than our humble community.
My positive is that I allowed myself not to feel the need to push my body yesterday and allowed myself some time for basic physical healing. Which was very much needed. I have a hard time allowing my body the time it needs to heal--seems to be a family trait. :ohwell: I hope this is a sign I'm getting wiser as I get older.

Hi all. I feel sort of like Rip Van Bikerboy because ever since Christmas night about the only thing i've done is sleep. Before Christmas I was running around like a mad man. Now I finally have enough energy to get out of bed. :bricks: My positive is kind of a year in review one that I learned a lot about myself this year in terms of what I'm capable of, both good and bad. The support within this community has been a big part of my growth and I'm looking forward to this year in a way I haven't looked forward to much of anything in a long time. It should be interesting. I hope we keep this thread going and don't stop until we hit 10,000 posts.

The new year is off to an interesting start. My cousin just repayed me the money I loaned him about 8 months ago. To be honest I had concluded a long time ago he had taken me to the cleaners, again. So this is a postive surprise. He really had no explanation for why it took so long. I guess it doesn't really matter. For once I kept my cool, so its something to build upon.

Today I caught up with a lot of tax-related paperwork to do with my business. I hate doing this but got it all done up to the end of December so I am ready for the New Year!!

The most positive thing I can say is the holidays are over. I made it all the way without using. Now I can admit there were moments when I really doubted I could do this. I guess I have more willposer than I thought. This is a good thing.

Excellent job, friendly!

Well, my positive is that I'm going to visit my family again in Florida. I had a long talk with my brother, who was under the impression I wasn't going to allow him to have a friendship with my husband anymore, and I think he came away understanding better that this is just a sad situation with no bad guys in it. So two positives, I guess. Anyway, not sure if I'll be around the community or not this next week, but I'll be thinking of all of you!

Hi all, don't know why I haven't been loggin on. I guess I've been too depressed to talk much about it. There are several positives here. First is that I'm starting to come out of it. Next, I didn't get into any trouble while in this depressed state and I was aware of it even if I didn't stop it from happening. I think all of these count as at least somewhat positive.

Hewho - good to have you back and I'm pleased to hear that you are coming out of it.

It's another hot day today - 35C. I've had a lazy day - just doing some thinking. I have some big decisions to make in the next few months and I have to stop wavering about some things. So today is a day where I am taking some time out to consider everything.

Congratulations, Friendly

I spent a good deal of time yesterday cleaning the house and trying to get organized in my affairs. I have a tendency to be a bit lackadasical in this kind of thing. Okay, I border on being a slob. I feel much better about myself when I get organized. I hope I'm able to stay with this because I feel better and I'm much more efficient when I do this.

P.S. It has snowed off and on all week and we have a sizeable accumulation. The temperature is well below freezing and I'm miserable. If your sitting around a poolside reading this I hope you feel guilty. :peace:
