Thanks, Tc. I'm really feeling proud of him although I have reservations about the work practices at the shop - in fact I know that some of the stuff today was illegal. After 3 hours training, he was left alone to run the shop - and I mean run it. At closing time he had to balance the money, set the alarms and lock up. He worked a total of 8 and a half hours without a break (the shop was not very busy but there was nobody to relieve him) and without a seat, in 35C heat in an un-airconditioned building.

He brought the keys home with him and is going back at 7.30am to open up the shop. This is too much responsibility for a 15 year old on his first day in his first job. But the positives are his attitude. Although he was feeling a bit angry at being left in the shop all day without enough training, he wants to keep going with the job. I don't know how long he will last in these conditions but I am so proud of the fact that he got out there and got a job and wants to go back after a dreadful first day.

These hours are only for the summer holidays, of course. This is our long break so we have another 3 weeks to go.

Balbrenny, its great that your son has a job. I agree that's a lot of responsiblity for a 15 year-old. I hope it helps him grow rather than becoming some kind of headache.

The other day I treated myself to my first ever massage. I've got to admit it felt really good. Even better than being hugged. I might just have to do this more often.

Saturday afternoon I attended a party where my ex-wife was at. She came with a man but not the person she's dated off and on for awhille. The three of us actually managed to engage in relatively friendly smalltalk  The mood was tense because none of us are much good at smalltalk. Overall the party was very enjoyable other than her being there. Once upon a time I would've probably allowed her to destroy the event for me. I must be growing because I did not give her this kind of power.

Congratulations friendly! Keep it up, one day at a time.

That's great news about your son's job, Balbrenny. He might really enjoy having that kind of responsibility once he gets the hang of it.

I managed to have a relatively calm and productive day despite feeling anxious and grumpy this morning. I have been trying to worry less about things, so I guess this is some progress.

Taran - I'm glad that you enjoyed the massage!

Friendly - Congratulations - getting through the last couple of weeks took a lot of willpower.

I went shopping with a friend today - only spent $20 so I didnpt break my budget but it was good to just be with somebody who cares.

Great Job Friendly!

After a very rough weekend, I am back to just being happy to be alive! Feels nice. Calm. Almost, dare I say, peaceful.

Someone who I barely even know went out of their way to comment that lately I seem more "upbeat" and "present". Usally this kind of thing makes me feel uncomfortable. It still does, but it also kind of feels good. More than kind of.

Just got back from a meeting with the police. They say there's reason to believe my ex has crossed the lines and could qualify as a stalker. I know some of you won't like that I went to the cops. I've not made a decision to prosecute but I just need validation of my feelings. Kind of like we here constantly from the f/f community. I admit it feels good not to have someone automatically assume everything is my fault even when they hear the dreaded NPD.

Riches, I think that it is a great step to take to go to the police and to get validation of your feelings. I know how hard that would be for you to do.

Today I started repairing the holes in the walls that my son has made since June - I repaired them all in May for a birthday bash so the ones I'm currently working on have been made since then. There are about 20 and some are huge - I used a kilo and a half (3 and a half pounds) of dry plaster today but I'm more than half way through.

I'm being optimistic that there will be no more!! (He now has a punching bag in the garage!)
