"Out beyond ideas of right-doing and wrong-doing there is a field. I'll meet you there." ----- Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Balkhi-Rumi, 13th century Sufi poet.

"Have faith that people do their best. I don't know anyone who would eat with pigs out of a trough in a muddy barnyard if he knew that a well-prepared meal was on the table in a clean house - do you?" Greg Baer

"The Secret in healing Narcissism is not to heal it at all, but to listen to it. Narcissism is a signal that the soul is not being loved sufficiently. The greater the Narcissism, the less love being given." ~ Thomas Moore, 'Care of the Soul'.

It's been a cooler day today with a bit of rain. My eldest has gone camping with a youth group and the youngest is with his dad so I''ve got some time to myself - just relaxing and thinking. The first time in 15 months that I've been on my own overnight - without responsiblity for one of the boys (apart from going away with work when I still had to organise somebody to look after the boys).

Loving it ....

Linda

I haven't been to a wedding in years! And I need a vacation!

Had a pleasant evening with friends last night. They are friends with my ex as well so I tried to avoid talking about him. Pretty successful. He only came up once. We talked briefly then moved on to the next subject. It's nice to know I can still maintain relationships with these people.

Then got home and got a phone call I wasn't expecting. It was nice too.

Just happy to be alive, boys come home today after a night with their daddy.

Congrats Friendly!

Have a great day!

Mel

Hey, TC, don't let our teasing scare you away from asking for that next date. you've nothing to lose. Some of my best friends are ex-boyfriends. Ok, so one.

Slept ten hours last night. Guess that's a positive. Therapy tomorrow. God do I need it! My other positives are in the football section...

I received a letter in the mail (its nice to see something in the mail other than a bill :claphands: ) The letter was from a friend who had kind of drifted out of my life. I have the impression that he's doing a lot of self-exploring. I'm touched that he would think highly enough to write after all this time. It feels good to know I didn't burn all the old bridges. That gives me hope for tomorrow and the day after that.

Hes, I can take a little teasing. I'm just struggling to get up my confidence.

Hope things go well for you, TC. Sorry to hear about your accident, Zach. Good on you, Friendly.

I've been a bit down since about Christmas so the pity party is stretching as far as Oz. Like you, Hes, I keep counting my blessings -

Going out for lunch today with a couple of friends. Looking forward to it.

It sounds like we all need something positive. My Dad called last night and said he's finished the Stephen Johnson book. He wants time to as he says "process" the information. Its interesting that he made such a spectacle of having read it after so much energy went into how he would never read it. Sometimes I feel my son is setting the standards for maturity in our family.

That's got to hurt Zach, Ouch!

Yesterday during my session my T person said he felt as though I was making very positive steps in reducing my rage. That's one of the most positive things anyone has ever said to me ever. So I think its kind of cool. :claphands:

By the way I was working on one of those NPD crossword puzzles and there are a couple of words I cannot get. Has anyone finished one so I can cheat?

I continue to start the days with a hug. I've got to admit that I kind of like it. I wouldn't say I'm 100 % comfortable with it, but its getting better. I got an unexpected raise in the first check of the new year. That tells you something about where I work. They figured out they'd been under paying me compared to other places in town so they quick did something before anyone noticed. I cannot complain as its a lot easier than what CoolBlonde went through to get a raise. Its not exactly like it was that impressive of a raise but every little bit helps.

Hi all, its been a while since I posted a positive. No special reason, just lazy. The spring semester starts on Tuesday. After the success of fall I feel much less stress than I did last go around. I hope this is a good thing. Looking at my schedule its difficult but I don't think its as difficult as last semester. To stay on good standing with the financial aide people I have to keep doing well, plus I need to for my own reasons. Hopefully I'll be able to participate here more because of the lack of stress. Time will tell on that one. Right now I feel rested and ready to roll.
