"The Secret in healing Narcissism is not to heal it at all, but to listen to it. Narcissism is a signal that the soul is not being loved sufficiently. The greater the Narcissism, the less love being given." ~ Thomas Moore, 'Care of the Soul'.

Q. Is it really possible to heal NPD?

Sickpuppy, it definately qualifies. Good work, friendly-- you inspite me! Mel, I know all too well the married single mom thing. TC, when does the healing get fun? Still mourning, but since Fri. is my husband's day off, we switch off time with our son on Fri. Since I have him this weekend, my husband got to have him today. Used the day to finish digging out and went above and beyond in my bedroom, really getting it perfect. I now have my own private retreat. I can't wait to get my son fed, give him his bath, put him to bed, and soak in my tub!!! (This was actually a friend's advice-- she said "Your kitchen is always a mess because you have a preschooler and you will always be cleaning it. Why don't you invest some time instead in creating a nice space for yourself?") Think I'll just go sit in there for a few minutes....

My little doggy makes me feel better even when I do not feel at all well. It gets so excited about getting a doggy treat that it can't contain itself and runs back and forth all over the kitchen. So innocent and happy... I wish I could be the same way.

You know, of course, where this other world lies hidden. It is the world of your own soul that you seek. Only within yourself exists that other reality for which you long. I can give you nothing that has not already its being within yourself... All I can give you is the impulse, the key. I can help you to make your own world visible. That is all.

This weekend is my first time to spend on me in what seems like forever. I'm tempted to see if I can find anyone to do a massage at the last minute on a Saturday. Probably should've thought of this sooner. What the hey, I'll find some way to make this a time for me. I deserve it.

I made it through the week without spending a lot of time thinking of lies to tell my boss to get me out of having to work. Lets just say this has been a problem for a while. One of those things I cannot really explain. Maybe I'm getting beyond it.

I've agreed to help my Father set up a website advertising his skills as a photographer/newspaper editior. It seems he's decided to get back into the newspaper business. The last job he had in the business was in the late1980's. There was a time he was good at this--then NPD got in the way. Now I just hope that we both know what we're doing. Our history on joint projects is not impressive so I may be posting this in the positive thread more for good luck than anything. At the very least this offers the potential for entertainnment. :cookiemonster:

Yesterday I was so down. I decided to take a lesson from TC and have a long soak in the tub. It truly does do wonders. Today has been overall pretty darn good. Did some music, cleaning, played with my son, cooked, some laundry, a little reading... real nice balanced weekend. This taking care of yourself has some real advantages!

I've had a day of more or less relaxation. No stress, no crisis. I wonder if that has anything to do with my boss being out of town at a convention this week? :eyepopper: Could be but I'm enjoying being able to take care of some of the more important things like housekeeping around the forums. I like these non-stress days. I need to have more of them. Maybe I need to create the occassion where they happen more often. Not sure but that might actually have been one of my new year's resolutions. Dear god we're into February and I'm still talking about new year's resolutions. This will get me in trouble. :bigtimetrouble:

Its almost a done deal that I'm moving on out and hopefully up. I sign the papers on an apartment in the morning and take possession at the end of the month. I'm scared and psyched at the same time.

My Father and son have agreed to come together over spring break and discuss the many things which my son feels should be on the table. This is an incredible step for both of them. If you recall where we where heading into the holidays and the uproar of my son giving his grandfather the Johnson book for Christmas. I really felt as though our family had just experienced a Nuclear winte. I credit my wife and Mother for being the voices of reason throughout the storm. I just felt like hiding. :hiding: I'm trying to relax and see where this goes on its own. Maybe I need one of those nice soaks in the tub. I feel more opptimistic than I have for a long time. Just nobody say a word too soon.

I haven't posted a positive in quite a while because to be honest, I have been feeling down right Doo doopy!

However, sat on the phone with a girlfriend for hours last night and had a good cry so maybe all will be well now!

Good luck T, that first apartment is a little scary, but oh so much fun once you are in it!
