"Out beyond ideas of right-doing and wrong-doing there is a field. I'll meet you there." ----- Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Balkhi-Rumi, 13th century Sufi poet.

"Have faith that people do their best. I don't know anyone who would eat with pigs out of a trough in a muddy barnyard if he knew that a well-prepared meal was on the table in a clean house - do you?" Greg Baer

"The Secret in healing Narcissism is not to heal it at all, but to listen to it. Narcissism is a signal that the soul is not being loved sufficiently. The greater the Narcissism, the less love being given." ~ Thomas Moore, 'Care of the Soul'.

Q. Is it really possible to heal NPD?

A. Anything is possible. You do not have to be a negative statistic on a probablity curve of people with Narcissistic Personality Disorder

I had dinner last night with a very nice looking girl who lives on the floor below me. We laughed and talked about stuff. I think we are becoming friends and the cool thing is I don't feel pressured to make this more than it is at the moment. Life is looking up out on my own for the first time.

I'm over six months, almost seven, without using despite my family acting like a pack of lunatics. So far so good.

Had my own share of ego boosts on the weekend... Although, it's getting a little old being that the only guys who approach me these days are under the age of thirty (I saw thirty several years ago!) It is good for the self-confidence however!

Other than that the boys and I have a had a very good weekend together. The chart thing is working wonders on my older son and is starting to rub off on my three year old!

Have a great day!

Mel

Today is the final day of spring break. My kids are bummed out by this but I have to admit I'm ready for a break after this week of vacation. It was great to be able to spend time with them as we just hung out and did normal stuff pretty much all week. Its just that normal stuff for preteens is almost too much for me to keep up with for an entire week. My body is aching but my heart feels full. So this is a good thing.

This may not be seen as a positive by many, but I'm making sure to drink lots of water everyday  I just read a sign in my school that says 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated, and that you can reduce your risk of breast cancer and other cancers by 50% just by drinking enough water. I was like damn. Now every time I go past the water fountain I drink for about two minutes. It actually does make me feel a bit better generally as well. And it reduces hunger and makes it easier for me to avoid over-snacking.

H20 is cool.

Leave it to an Englishman to take all the out of being chronically unhealthy. Oh well, I have an interview in the morning for a job that is even better than what I gave up last year in the aftertmath of that failed romance. Please keep me in your happy thoughts.

If it makes you feel any better Zach I just slammed down a lunch consisting of a greasy burger, fries and a beer. No time for proper manners :evillaugh:

Uh, I wasn't finished but I somehow hit the wrong key. Really being unhealthy is not the most positive thing I have to offer. My best news is that I 've been selected to participate in a new experimental group my therapist is starting for people with personality disorders. I think it s cool because he said he would only take people he feels can really get something out of this technique. Maybe its something I can share as we start real life groups for NPDers.

My dad and I recently experienced a major disagreement in which we both expressed how we felt in rather specific terms. This is the kind of thing which in the past would have lead to a significant period of silence between us. The difference this time is we've both been able to let go enough to try and move forward. There is stilll a certain degree of bitterness underneath but are not using this to stop us from moving forward. I believe eventually we'll be able to resolve this problem if we simply keep talking.

AP Government... AP Government... AP Government... AP Government... AP Government... AP Government... AP Government... AP Government... AP Government... AP Government... AP Government... AP Government... AP Government... AP Government... AP Government...

A curse on the American public school system. I'm now 7 hours into an assignment that's due tomorrow. Read and summarize and comment on 50 politically related newspaper articles. It's killing me.

The positive is that one day, hopefully TOday, it will all be done.
