Re: 1,000 positive stepping stones on the path to healing ( 01:56:28 ThuMay 13 2004 ) |
I have been cleaning, exercising, writing, and getting stuff together for the lawyers. Got to admit, it feels fabulous, like I've got my life back... Though I've stumbled across that old wedding album too, Mel, and shed a few tears...
The big positive is my husband and I talked for 40 minutes tonight about our son. He seems to have accepted that the divorce is going to happen. We each had concerns about different issues with our son, and were actually able to help each other work through them. When it comes to details and nitty gritty stuff, we've always worked together well-- we were work colleagues before we were involved romantically, and it feels like this is the kind of relating that is now moving into the foreground. My therapist thinks that his therapy is going to be a container for the worst of it, and that she can help me stay in a place of forgiveness and understanding rather than bitterness and rage. Things seem to be going well so far...
