Last night I dreamed that a cure for NPD had been found. It was a good feeling. Who knows, maybe one day this dream will be reality. Stranger things have happened.

Just got back from a two-day trip to New York city. It's such a busy and intense place, kind of scared me. I'm glad to be back home in the lazy suburbs of DC.

Matt, its kind of scary you think DC is lazy compared to much of anywhere. Come to the great northwest some day and I'll introduce you to another world. :peace:

I received a rather pleasant surprise last night from our old friend Swisher the duck. At bed time I couldn't find her anywhere and was kind of frantic. Than I remembered that over the last few days I'd seen her disappearing into a small entrance between some trees and bushes. I called her name as I got down on my hands and knees and I heard her quack back at me. This made me look closer and I noticed that she was sitting on about a dozen eggs. The girls have dropped a few eggs from time to time but never anything like this. IO'm trying to decide if I should let her become a Mommy Quack. I know the practical answer is no, but since when does logic enter things with pets? Maybe the eggs won't hatch even though I'm quite sure with this male they've been well fertlized. Does anyone want some ducklings? They make wonderful family members.

When I was about 10 my brother and I both had ducks. One named Quacky (mine) and the other Dodger (his). They were great! My dad built a pen for them in the back yard. They eventually got too big and we sent them out to live on a farm. I won't tell you what happened next. Yes, they were great pets.

Thanks for the memories, TC!!

I'm a sleepy boy. Sleeping from 12 to 12 every day. Sleep is beautiful.

Congratulations on your new arrivals Tc! Just in time for Father's Day.

I have a duck story too. There is a creek in my backyard and there are a lot of ducks and geese there. A former neighbor of mine always used to feed dried corn to the white ducks that lived there. Then one time he went on vacation and asked me to feed his ducks for him. After the first time I fed them, every time they saw me they would all start getting out of the creek and waddling up through the yard toward the house thinking it was time to eat. One time I came home from work and went in the house and a few minutes later I heard all this commotion out on my porch. I looked out and there were about 15 ducks walking around all quacking and Doo dooping all over my porch. It was pretty funny, but also a little embarrassing to have 15 ducks on my porch.

CoolBlonde,

Your dog is soo cute! It's got such an adorable look... I wish I had one like that.

I'm continuing to sleep and sleep. Important therapy session today though, in a couple of hours.

I have a duck story. I just went to New York and to the Central Park Zoo, where there are many different kinds of ducks. There was this one pool where a bunch of red-butted little monkies lived on a rock complex in the middle of the pool, while the ducks circled all around them in the water. And the baby monkies would constantly bait the ducks, and try and slap their tails when the ducks got too close, causing the ducks to swim off and look most offended.

Looks like people are rediscovering the great outdoors. Imagine having a life outside the Internet. None of you'll ever make it in the land of victims. Now there's something to cry about. Its currently 92 degrees outside and I think 100 inside. Which fool was it that spent last winter bitching about cold and saying how he preferred heat?

The only good thing is I get to forget the adult world this weekend and go play lifeguard at a beach about 30 miles from here. NPD should be the last thing I'll be thinking about.

Its a glorious beginning to summer here in the Rockies. As noted earlier my kids have given me a free pass for the weekend. Life is good :cookiemonster:

This morning the fire alarm went off at my office and I didn't pay much attention. I guess the drills have numbed me to the real thing. Finally my boss shouted down the staircase that there was a gas leak and this was not a drill. It was not until I got upstairs that I was almost overcome by a very toxic odor. I helped the staff get the kids outside, only to learn some people were still inside. Over the next hour ambulances and firetrucks rushed to the building. A few people were taken to the hospital. I was told the unknown gas was headed down and that was lucky not to have been more effected. This was all on top of one my high risk kids celelbrating Father's day by assaulting his Father. I'm physically and emotionally drained but at least I have my spiritual health.
