"Out beyond ideas of right-doing and wrong-doing there is a field. I'll meet you there." ----- Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Balkhi-Rumi, 13th century Sufi poet.

"Have faith that people do their best. I don't know anyone who would eat with pigs out of a trough in a muddy barnyard if he knew that a well-prepared meal was on the table in a clean house - do you?" Greg Baer

"The Secret in healing Narcissism is not to heal it at all, but to listen to it. Narcissism is a signal that the soul is not being loved sufficiently. The greater the Narcissism, the less love being given." ~ Thomas Moore, 'Care of the Soul'.

Q. Is it really possible to heal NPD?

A. Anything is possible. You do not have to be a negative statistic on a probablity curve of people with Narcissistic Personality Disorder

Healing becomes possible when all parties in a relationship come to see each other as co-creators of the relationship rather then attacker, and victim.

I gotta say, Zachery, you gave me quite a laugh on a day I really needed it. Thanks. Even though I think technically what you wrote could be considered "acting out"-- and I hate the "b" word--I got let it go because it was just too funny. See that? Boy, can I be immature!!!

But isn't accepting ourselves as human beings, with all of our "magnificence and vulnerability" (according to Johnson) the whole point of healing from NPD?

It occurs to me that rather than get upset with our guest, this might be a great opportunity to celebrate the members of this board, their immaturity, their wisdom, their messy humanness, their courage, their imperfections. Viva la "Heal NPD"!

    Just my opinion.

I'm liking what all of you have to say. Thank you. I was having a sh-tty day when I wrote this and do laugh at myself and yes, agree that I was being judgemental and a jerk. I am all for the truth. Truth is, I started a thread, that seemingly reappeared after this thread, regarding the keywords in the code of this website. I have yet to hear a solid response from TC on this. My efforts were to help spread the word about this site, to educate and help more people with NPD and friends and family.
Everyone can view the code listing of keywords by clicking the View toolbar option and clicking on View to see the listing and website description. Keywords are the words people search for in search engines to find topics (as I understand many of you are aware).

I apologize for my harsh attitude at the origin of this thread. At the time it doubly struck me that since my thread, intended for good, was ignored by the administrator. If there is an explanation, I will understand. But so far there has been no good explanation which puts a question in my mind. I know there are great people here and I applaud the healing that takes place. For that, I hope we can direct more people to this site. Thank you for listening and sorry I was such a lame-o. Take care and thank you for your human responses, good and even the not so good.

    Andy
