These kids are very frustrated with the lack of airplay for Simon & Garfunkel on Psychedelic Sunday… They faithfully tune in every Sunday… and every Sunday they are so disappointed… what's the big deal? Why can't you play Simon and Garfunkel on Psychedelic Sunday? This would be the radio format most suited for playing Simon and Garfunkel…

Dear Q107:

You are always playing Bob Dylan - who is, admittedly, a great songwriter - but whose voice I cannot stand. Also, you play quite a bit of Arlo Guthrie and Joni Mitchell on Psychodelic Psunday - but you very seldom ever play Simon and Garfunkel during that time. How come? Okay, I can see how Joni Mitchell is a Canadian artist - and is needed for filling up the CanCon quota. But Bob Dylan and Arlo Guthrie are *not* Canadian artists - so why do you feel the need to play them so much, but not Simon and Garfunkel? So Q107 staff, can you please show Simon and Garfunkel the proper respect and play them more. I'm not asking for you to play less Bob Dylan, Arlo Guthrie, or Joni Mitchell - I just want you to play *more* Simon and Garfunkel, that's all. Please? Really, what do you people have against Simon and Garfunkel? They have beautiful, soothing voices - and lovely harmonies. So can you please do us Simon and Garfunkel fans a favour - and play Simon and Garfunkel more often? Thank you!!

I really do like your station, alot - and you guys really do play a lot of great music. However, I do have one beef about your station, though. It seems as though you guys very seldom ever play Simon and Garfunkel, even on Psychodelic Psunday - what gives? Also, no offence to Bob Dylan or his fans - but you guys *do* play him to death!! Don't get me wrong, he is a good lyricist - and Simon and Garfunkel even does an excellent rendition of Times They Are A-Changin' - but Bob Dylan's singing voice really does leave a lot to be desired, to put it mildly. But Simon and Garfunkel, on the other hand, have such beautiful harmony vocals - and their music is so soothing. So how come you guys very seldom ever play Simon and Garfunkel? And how does Arlo Guthrie fit the format more than Simon and Garfunkel do. Okay, admittedly, you guys do not overplay Arlo Guthrie anywhere near as much as you overplay Bob Dylan - but you guys still play Arlo Guthrie much more so than you play Simon and Garfunkel. Why is that? Simon and Garfunkel were a very legendary folk-rock singing duo of the late 60s - which, last time I checked, is during the *psychodelic* era. And Simon and Garfunkel are back on the road, again - and, believe it or not, their concerts are selling out!! You know why that is? That's because Simon and Garfunkel do still have a lot of fans - despite what many might think. So please do Simon and Garfunkel a favour - show them some more respect and play them more often, okay? They do not deserve to be gypped airplay in favour of Arlo Guthrie!! So, for the love of all that's good and righteous - please give Simon and Garfunkel more airplay, okay? Thank you very much!!

How come you very seldom ever play Simon & Garfunkel? That last time I heard you play Simon & Garfunkel was on November 30th of last year - when Simon & Garfunkel were in Toronto. Okay, so maybe Bob Dylan is a little more rock than Simon & Garfunkel are - but does this really justify playing Bob Dylan to death, and playing Simon & Garfunkel once in a blue moon? And, for your information - Simon & Garfunkel *are* classifyed as folk-rock! They are *not* some insignificant duo from the late 60s - Simon & Garfunkel had played a major role of that era. Songs like Sounds of Silence and Bridge Over Troubled Water are very legandary hits that will be remembered for years to come. So you guys really are doing Simon & Garfunkel a major injustice by not playing them even as much as you play Arlo Guthrie!! Arlo Guthrie is not anywhere near as legendary as Simon & Garfunkel. I'm sure if you ask around, many more people are at least familiar with the name "Simon & Garfunkel" - and not as many people are familiar with the name "Arlo Guthrie". So could you please add more Simon & Garfunkel to your Psychodelic Psunday playlist? Simon & Garfunkel deserve a lot more airplay than you guys are giving them. So, please, at least take this into consideration, okay? Thanks.

You guys play a lot of folkie type music by the likes of Bob Dylan, Arlo Guthrie, Joni Mitchell, Long John Baldry, Neil Young, CSN&Y, and America. But one artist that I very seldom ever hear you guys play, is Simon & Garfunkel. Now may I ask why that is? I am not meaning to complain - I really do like a lot of the music that you guys play - but how come you do not play Simon & Garfunkel more? Simon & Garfunkel were a legandary folk duo of the mid-to-late 1960s. In fact, there are even some school teachers integrating Simon & Garfunkel's music into their classes - because of their legendary songs. So doesn't this tell you guys something? So all I'm just asking for is - can you please play more Simon & Garfunkel during Psychodelic Psunday? I don't think I'm asking for much, am I? Don't you think Simon & Garfunkel deserve more airplay on Psychodelic Psunday? Anyway, other than that, you guys are a great radio station.

Hi, again!! I would just like to explain that the reason why I listen to your station over the internet - as opposed to a local radio station - is because I am fed up with all of our local radio stations!! You guys play a lot more variety than any of our local radio stations do - including music by Canadian artists that have not made it into our country (the USA). So I hope you guys take this as a compliment - I really do like your format!! So the only complaint that I really have regarding your station is that you play so much Bob Dylan and other folk-rock artists - but you very seldom ever play Simon & Garfunkel. But I did hear you play Mrs. Robinson last Sunday - so I would like to thank you for that.

Let's make sure we all try to get to bed at a fairly reasonable time on Saturday night, so that we can listen to all of Psychedelic Psunday. Then let's post to this thread everytime we hear a Simon & Garfunkel song on Q107, okay? Also, if you hear Simon & Garfunkel on Psychedelic Psnack (or any other time) - then be sure to log that too, okay? Let's hope that Q107 plays Simon & Garfunkel on Psychedelic Psunday at least once a month, okay?

Both these bands I do remember from TV even though I was only 5 or 6 years old… I also remember The Beatles from Ed Sullivan… This is because of my mom & dad… I think Ed Sullivan was on Sunday nights… and the only show I was allowed to stay up after 8:00p and watch with them :wink:

Bed time back in the 1960's was 8:00p for all kids… under the age of 14 years old :lol:

Dear Q107:

I really do like your station, alot - and you guys really do play a lot of great music. However, I do have one beef about your station, though. It seems as though you guys very seldom ever play Simon and Garfunkel, even on Psychedelic Psunday - what gives? Also, no offence to Bob Dylan or his fans - but you guys *do* play him to death!! Don't get me wrong, he is a good lyricist - and Simon and Garfunkel even does an excellent rendition of Times They Are A-Changin' - but Bob Dylan's singing voice really does leave a lot to be desired, to put it mildly. But Simon and Garfunkel, on the other hand, have such beautiful harmony vocals - and their music is so soothing. So how come you guys very seldom ever play Simon and Garfunkel? And how does Arlo Guthrie fit the format more than Simon and Garfunkel do. Okay, admittedly, you guys do not overplay Arlo Guthrie anywhere near as much as you overplay Bob Dylan - but you guys still play Arlo Guthrie much more so than you play Simon and Garfunkel. Why is that? Simon and Garfunkel were a very legendary folk-rock singing duo of the late 60s - which, last time I checked, is during the *psychedelic* era. And Simon and Garfunkel are back on the road, again - and, believe it or not, their concerts are selling out!! You know why that is? That's because Simon and Garfunkel do still have a lot of fans - despite what many might think. So please do Simon and Garfunkel a favour - show them some more respect and play them more often, okay? They do not deserve to be gypped airplay in favour of Arlo Guthrie!! So, for the love of all that's good and righteous - please give Simon and Garfunkel more airplay, okay? Thank you very much!!

I know that is what quite a few have asked me. The problem is, though, the oldies stations tend to play quite a few songs that bore me. I guess that's the problem with liking Simon and Garfunkel, and it not being my usual style. Sadly, I guess I'll just have to accept the fact that Bob Dylan fits the classic rock format more than Simon and Garfunkel do. I still don't understand how Arlo Guthrie fits the Psychedelic Psunday format more than Simon and Garfunkel do, though. But whatever.

Hi, there, guys. I can exactly say that I'm a Simon and Garfunkel fan - but Renee's mom has Q107 on, and they just played Mother and Child Reunion by Paul Simon. Just thought you guys may like to know.

I sent an email yesterday… requesting Musical Box… it's one of my favourite Genesis Songs… I only have it on Vinyl… and my vinyls were wiped out in the fire… I am talking about Genesis Live… We had to sit through a whole album side of The Stones choke… finally I just sent Andy an email and said I don't understand how Q107 can be so disrespectful to Peter Gabriel… I am beginning to take this all so personal… Are you stringing me along and then you won't play any Genesis?
Genesis with Peter Gabriel has always been one of my favourite bands… I also, said… I only have nice things to say about Q107 these days… I don't understand… who hates me so much?
Then we heard Genesis… it wasn't what I requested but hey…

Well, I am not surprised… with no Simon & Garfunkel…
Our forum happens to be very supportive of Q107 this is why I don't understand…

The Only Living Boy In New York was playing at 8:20 PM! It's not technically Q107 playing the song, but it's being heard on Q107. You guys should try to listen to The Deep End every week. They might play a lot of Simon and Garfunkel on that program.

Do you hear The Deep End on Q107? It's a 'new' Feature or Program... being broadcasted on Q107... like I am sure the Legends of Classic Rock with Jeff Woods is broadcasted on other radio startions... (Corus Ent)..
The same with The Ongoing History of New Music with Alan Cross. It's also, broadcasted on other radio stations across Canada... :wink:

yeah... it's ok... because you hear different than the mainstream Q107 plays mostly... but yeah I tune in and out.. it's called radio to the left of me and media player straight ahead :wink:

I don't usually listen to Psychedelic Psunday, but I love Hazy Shade of Winter. Do they ever play Homeward Bound during that time? That's a nice song. One song that I really don't care for, though, is Mrs. Robinson.
