Please leave a post here if you listen to Q107 - and you want Q107 to play Simon & Garfunkel more often on Psychodelic Psunday.
(added: May 9/04 5:45p) Note to Q107 from one of the Moderators: Dear Q107, These kids are very frustrated with the lack of airplay for Simon & Garfunkel on Psychedelic Sunday… They faithfully tune in every Sunday… and every Sunday they are so disappointed… what's the big deal? Why can't you play Simon and Garfunkel on Psychedelic Sunday? Dear Q107: You are always playing Bob Dylan - who is, admittedly, a great songwriter - but whose voice I cannot stand. Also, you play quite a bit of Arlo Guthrie and Joni Mitchell on Psychodelic Psunday - but you very seldom ever play Simon and Garfunkel during that time. How come? Okay, I can see how Joni Mitchell is a Canadian artist - and is needed for filling up the CanCon quota. But Bob Dylan and Arlo Guthrie are *not* Canadian artists - so why do you feel the need to play them so much, but not Simon and Garfunkel? So Q107 staff, can you please show Simon and Garfunkel the proper respect and play them more. I'm not asking for you to play less Bob Dylan, Arlo Guthrie, or Joni Mitchell - I just want you to play *more* Simon and Garfunkel, that's all. Please? Really, what do you people have against Simon and Garfunkel? They have beautiful, soothing voices - and lovely harmonies. I really do like your station, alot - and you guys really do play a lot of great music. However, I do have one beef about your station, though. It seems as though you guys very seldom ever play Simon and Garfunkel, even on Psychodelic Psunday - what gives? Also, no offence to Bob Dylan or his fans - but you guys *do* play him to death!! Don't get me wrong, he is a good lyricist - and Simon and Garfunkel even does an excellent rendition of Times They Are A-Changin' - but Bob Dylan's singing voice really does leave a lot to be desired, to put it mildly. But Simon and Garfunkel, on the other hand, have such beautiful harmony vocals - and their music is so soothing. So how come you guys very seldom ever play Simon and Garfunkel? And how does Arlo Guthrie fit the format more than Simon and Garfunkel do. Okay, admittedly, you guys do not overplay Arlo Guthrie anywhere near as much as you overplay Bob Dylan - but you guys still play Arlo Guthrie much more so than you play Simon and Garfunkel. Why is that? Simon and Garfunkel were a very legendary folk-rock singing duo of the late 60s - which, last time I checked, is during the *psychodelic* era. And Simon and Garfunkel are back on the road, again - and, believe it or not, their concerts are selling out!! You know why that is? That's because Simon and Garfunkel do still have a lot of fans - despite what many might think. So please do Simon and Garfunkel a favour - show them some more respect and play them more often, okay? They do not deserve to be gypped airplay in favour of Arlo Guthrie!! So, for the love of all that's good and righteous - please give Simon and Garfunkel more airplay, okay? Thank you very much!! How come you very seldom ever play Simon & Garfunkel? That last time I heard you play Simon & Garfunkel was on November 30th of last year - when Simon & Garfunkel were in Toronto. Okay, so maybe Bob Dylan is a little more rock than Simon & Garfunkel are - but does this really justify playing Bob Dylan to death, and playing Simon & Garfunkel once in a blue moon? And, for your information - Simon & Garfunkel *are* classifyed as folk-rock! They are *not* some insignificant duo from the late 60s - Simon & Garfunkel had played a major role of that era. Songs like Sounds of Silence and Bridge Over Troubled Water are very legandary hits that will be remembered for years to come. So you guys really are doing Simon & Garfunkel a major injustice by not playing them even as much as you play Arlo Guthrie!! Arlo Guthrie is not anywhere near as legendary as Simon & Garfunkel. I'm sure if you ask around, many more people are at least familiar with the name "Simon & Garfunkel" - and not as many people are familiar with the name "Arlo Guthrie". So could you please add more Simon & Garfunkel to your Psychodelic Psunday playlist? Simon & Garfunkel deserve a lot more airplay than you guys are giving them. Hi, there. I really do enjoy most of the music that you guys play - but can I please ask one favour of you guys? You guys play a lot of folkie type music by the likes of Bob Dylan, Arlo Guthrie, Joni Mitchell, Long John Baldry, Neil Young, CSN&Y, and America. But one artist that I very seldom ever hear you guys play, is Simon & Garfunkel. Now may I ask why that is? I am not meaning to complain - I really do like a lot of the music that you guys play - but how come you do not play Simon & Garfunkel more? Simon & Garfunkel were a legandary folk duo of the mid-to-late 1960s. In fact, there are even some school teachers integrating Simon & Garfunkel's music into their classes - because of their legendary songs. So doesn't this tell you guys something? So all I'm just asking for is - can you please play more Simon & Garfunkel during Psychodelic Psunday? I don't think I'm asking for much, am I?
