I notice that most of you guys who post here are in your teens! It is so nice to the younger generation appreciating good music, like Simon and Garfunkel! Anyway, I'm just wondering how old everyone here is. Anyway, I'm 24.

Do you have any friends who like Simon and Garfunkel, at least a little bit? Most of my friends do like Simon and Garfunkel to varying degrees - but none are as hardcore as I am. Also, how do older adults usually react to you liking Simon and Garfunkel. BTW, I'm 17.

Well, I have one friend who likes them too, but, like you said, no quite as hardcore as me…Adults usually seem kinda surprised that I like that kind of music. Honestly, I dont know what I like about their music, its just captivating

Have you heard Simon and Garfunkel your whole life? How long have you been a fan? I know many like Simon and Garfunkel because they evoke nostalgic memories. Like, maybe you weren't a hardcore Simon and Garfunkel fan as a kid - but you've heard them a lot, and have always liked them somewhat. Know what I mean?

Well, I have heard their songs in movies before, but never really paid attention to it. Then last year in English, we were doing poetry, and the entire class listened to The Boxer…thats when I started liking them A LOT!

 Was one of the movies, by any chance, The Graduate? I know there's a lot of Simon and Garfunkel in that movie. Perhaps, it may have also been Almost Famous. I never watched that movie, since I don't really care for Led Zeppelin or any of that hard rock stuff. I know Simon and Garfunkel gets played in the beginning of that movie.

Well, Mrs. Robinson is in Forrest Gump……and also Sound Of Silence is in a comedy movie called Kingpin.
I cant think of any others where I would have heard it. They also sing Me And Julio Down By The Schoolyard in Maid In Manhattan. It could have been that as well |

You really should watch The Graduate, when you get a chance - even if you do watch it only for the background Simon and Garfunkel music. I do have to admit that I wouldn't like the movie nearly as much, if it wasn't for the Simon and Garfunkel music, in it. To tell you the truth, I wouldn't even have given that movie the time of day - if it wasn't for Simon and Garfunkel. However, it is a must watch for Simon and Garfunkel fans - even if you do watch it only for the Simon and Garfunkel music. Know what I'm saying?

I have seen The Graduate. I didn't care for it, but the music was amazing as always. When Mrs. Robinson is played…its a different version, and I have never been able to find it on the internet. It has the lyrics, "Stand up tall Mrs. Robinson, God in Heaven smiles on those who pray"

Do you have The Graduate soundtrack? That's sort of like a sixth album for Simon and Garfunkel - even though it also has instrumentals by Dave Grusin.

Actually, I don't have instant messanger. My parents don't want me downloading any instant messenger programs on their computer. They've had a problem with a virus on their computer about a year ago, and had to reinstall the whole operating system.

 I don't really know anyone my age, in person, who is as passionate about Simon and Garfunkel. Emily Garfunkel is so lucky to have a best friend (retro_chica) and a boyfriend (Todd_in_Toronto) who are as passionate about Simon and Garfunkel as she is. I hope to someday date someone who shares my passion for Simon and Garfunkel.
