Well, I guess it means that both Canada and the US would recognize you as a citizen of the country. Many American immigrants to Canada find it easier to retain their American citizenship - and I'm sure the same is true of Canadians who immigrate to the US. We're really not that different from other, and I can't fathom our countries ever being at war with each other. So cross-border immigrants just find it easier to become a dual-citizen of both countries.

Being over here in a little town called Terrace in British Columbia doesn't seem to be on the top or Simon and/or Garfunkel's list of tour dates which sucks

Yeah, I agree! Simon and Garfunkel should do more dates in Canada. I'm an American currently visiting my dad in Scarborough, Ontario. (Are you going to Scarborough Fair? Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme!!)

You mean a big city like Vancouver - or not quite as big. I like living in the countryside. I find that people are generally more friendly and polite in the countryside than in the city. I mean, I've heard horror stories about people moving to Toronto - and being unable to make friends there. I mean, it's a nice city to visit - but I wouldn't want to live there.

Oh, yeah, I definitely prefer the country, myself. We did live in an apartment in the suburbs for a little while - but then we moved out into a fairly big house in the country. Our house has an upstairs and a downstairs. We have three bedrooms and a hallways upstars. Downstairs, we have a kitchen, a living room, a dining room, and a bathroom. We don't have a basement - but we do have an attic. We also have a patio right outside our kitchen side door. We have a swingset and a picnic table. We also have a strawberry patch and a rasberry patch. We see lots of birds around here, as well as crickets and butterflies. Of course, the mosquitoes can be quite bad at times - but it's less bad if you use bug repellent. We also have a lake across the street, as well.

No offence, but I really don't understand what you guys see in the country. My mother and I live in an apartment in the suburbs - and I really enjoy being in close proximity to the stores, restaurants, and whatnot. It's nice to be able to walk downtown and pick up some milk. To me, I just think you would be too isolated in the country. I mean, don't get me wrong. I woudn't want to live in a big city like Vancouver or (heaven forbid) Toronto. I think a nice medium-sized city is perfect for me.

I think it would be rather peaceful and quiet to live in the countryside. However, it is nice living in the suburbs, too. My mom and I also live in an apartment, near Buffalo. It is definitely nice to be close to the stores, restaurants, etc. Besides, don't you think hearing crickets can be a bit annoying after awhile? BTW, I'm currently visiting my dad in a Toronto suburb area called Scarborough. I can't say that I really have difficulty making friends here.

Naa, I wouldn't want to live right in Vancouver, either. I used to live in the Toronto area - but I never lived right in Toronto.

That's just like where I live, Peggy!
That 70s Gal, I understand what you're saying. However, I just don't think it's as peaceful to live in the city. You don't get to hear crickets, you don't get to live in close proximity to a swimmable lake, and there's too much pollution. I'd rather live in a country suburb area, thank you very much. Suburb meaning your neighbours are in walking distance to you - where you can safely allow your three-year-old to walk to your neighbour's house,

I dunno. Not to generalize or anything, but I generally do find people who live in the country to be more friendly and relaxed, than in the city. Of course, there are exception, but that's what I generally observe.
