I Don't Like Mondays ( 07:49:59 TueJan 13 2004 ) Interact Quote Report To Canuck Wizard Last Posts Ignore Canuck Global Ignore Whisper I just got to thinking about that song by the Boomtown Rats and how it's based on a real life story about a 16-year-old girl named Brenda Ann Spencer had opened fire on children arriving at Cleveland Elementary School in San Diego from her house across the street, killing two men and wounding eight students and a police officer. And when a reporter had asked her why did that, her response was, "I don't like Mondays. This livens up the day." Well, this has got me thinking, while I should hope that most of us would not go the extreme that Brenda did - it is a sure fact that, without a doubt, Brenda is indeed not alone in her sentiments about not liking Mondays. I sure many of us who go to school or work can relate to getting the "Sunday Night Blues", where it's like you don't want to go to bed because it would make the next day come sooner - but, yet, you know you need your sleep or else you Monday will be even harder to deal with. Does anyone here feel that way. If any of you do go to school or work but don't dread Mondays - then how do you usually view Mondays? Just something to think about… Peace out. ---

Somehow I tend to think that it isn't right to have a song dedicated to a murderer.
