Blackie and The Rodeo Kings / Junkhouse ( 20:40:56 MonJul 12 2004 )

Common element of Blackie and Rodeo The Kings & Junkhouse is Tom Wilson…

I heard Tom Wilson of Blackie and The Rodeo Kings will be a featured guest on Breakfast With Derringer… This Friday morning July 16/04…

I spent a week in Cuba with Tom Wilson and saw two stellar shows… just Tom and his guitar… Awesome… I have seen Blackie and The Rodeo Kings play twice as well…

Yesterday I saw Colin Linden play when I went to see The Tragically Hip… at Wasaga Beach…
Colin is a master on slide guitar… brought back a few memories of the '80's when I use to frequent various Blues Establishments around Toronto…

Today, I am not sure what is wrong… whether I am sick with Sun Stroke or Heat Stroke… I didn't end up staying for The Hip… I left through the second song *Hundredth Meridian* I felt like I was suffocating in the crowd… it was so hot…

Cheers! :azzler:

Very Good SarahJane… Tom Wilson mentioned this too… I am very surprised Q107 hasn't added *Stoned* or *Gasoline or Water* both sound so 'Classic Rock' I know 'Classic Rock' is an era… but what about bands who are recording… just good old fashioned rock?

Cheers! :jam2:

it is nice to see blackie and the rodeo kings break through into the us. i do tend to wonder how some of their diehard canadian fans feel about this, though. i understand that when the barenaked ladies first broke through into the us - some of their diehard canadian fans had dropped the band like a hot rock, and accused the barenaked ladies of 'selling out'. this is very similar to the attitude of many diehard indie snobs who don't like to see their favourite indie bands go mainstream - otherwise those said bands are no longer 'worthy' to have these indie snobs for fans. what do you guys think of that?

Whoa… did Blackie and his Rodeo Kings ever rock The Legendary Horseshoe last night :azzler: I was standing pretty much in the front…
I took a whole roll of film  and didn't have any pictures left for special appearances by… Kathleen Edwards, Barney Bentall and Jim Cuddy of Blue Rodeo…

So fun was this show… and I got great big nice kiss from… the *Hot Dude* Tom Wilson… so coooool (blush) :loveya:

I will see how my pictures turn out… and gladly post them here at Rock n Rolla…

Cheers! :flowers:

I'm glad you had fun, Debbey! Amy, Zed, and everyone else - I would recommend reading the thread in Brainstorming on pigeonholing people into groups. Bob Caygeon did post an article explaining how music can divide people instead of bringing people together.

The diehard fans… I am not sure if Blackie and The Rodeo Kings have a lot of 'diehard fans'… or a lot of friends here in Toronto  same for Hamilton  Tom Wilson's Hometown…
Like Tom Wilson mentioned on Friday night… There isn't one Toronto Radio Station that will play Blackie and The Rodeo Kings…

Like I mentioned in the Radio Cat. I have to keep hammering away at Q107 …… CLASSIC ROCK… Q107…
They could have at least played some Blackie on this 'Blues Weekend'… Colin Linden is a outstanding Blues Guitarist :azzler:

Although, The Horseshoe was packed for Blackie and The Rodeo Kings…

Cheers! :flowers:
