How old were you - when you've first started liking Led Zeppelin? ( 11:45:53 FriNov 18 2005 )

I know, this should probably go in the Led Zeppelin forum - but I've noticed that the artist forums have been rather dead lately. So I've decided to post this here, since this forum gets posted in the most.

Anyway, I know some of you have mentioned being between the ages of four and seven when you've first started liking Led Zeppelin. I think I have you guys all beat, though. I was only two when I've first started liking Led Zeppelin.

In fact, I've started liking the band even before I could say the band's name properly. I used to pronounce it 'Leppin'. It took me about a few months, before I could master saying the band's name properly.

Also, for the parents on this board, how old were your kids when they first started liking Led Zeppelin? Who is the youngest kid you know to like Led Zeppelin?

Well, what exactly do you mean, when you say 'first started liking Led Zeppelin'? Do you mean when we first started giving special attention to Led Zeppelin - or just when we've first liked them?

The reason I ask this is, I have heard Led Zeppelin my whole life - and I don't remember a time when I didn't like Led Zeppelin. According to my parents, I've been dancing to music since I was about one and a half - and I'm sure some of them were Led Zeppelin songs. I'll ask, to make sure, though.

It wasn't really until I was ten, though, that I've begun to really notice Led Zeppelin. I remember really liking Black Dog, and wanting to pick up a tape by them. So, yeah, I've picked up my first Led Zeppelin album at ten.

Peace out.

Well, I was born in 1960… so I was around for nearly a decade, before Led Zeppelin became a band. I did pretty much like Led Zeppelin from day one, though. So I was about nine when I've first heard (and liked) Led Zeppelin.

Adrienne is the one who likes Led Zeppelin the most… and she's five. I think she was three, when she first liked Led Zeppelin. All five of my kids like Led Zeppelin… but Adrienne likes them the most. The others have different favorite bands.

I was also around for a few years, before Led Zeppelin was a band. I believe I have also liked Led Zeppelin from the day I first heard them. I think I was about four, when I've first heard Zeppelin.

As for my kids, well, Stephanie was seven when she first showed an interest in Led Zeppelin - although, I think she has always liked the music. Then, a few week later, Megan showed an interest in Led Zeppelin, too. Megan was three was that time. Jenny was one, and couldn't quite talk, yet.

When Jenny was able to talk, a few months later, she kept saying 'zeppelin'. I think she really liked saying that word a lot, and how saying the 'z' sound tickled her tongue. She was really fascinated with words that had the 'z' sound in it. She always wanted to hear Zeppelin, too. I think Stephanie and Megan were responsible for that. When Heather and Bridget were born, their three older sisters also got them into liking Led Zeppelin.

So, Tangie, I think Jenny, Heather, and Bridget have you beat.

Keep on rockin'. :canada:

I was about 16, when I've first got into Led Zeppelin. I know that's not very young - but from the time I was ten until the time I was 16, I have listened to only Christian music. I did like classic rock when I was younger, but I never really took a special interest in Led Zeppelin.

I was four, when I've first started liking Led Zeppelin. It is amazing to find out that some of you were even younger than I was, when you've first started liking Led Zeppelin. It really wasn't that hard to get some of my friends to like Led Zeppelin.

I was about six, when I've first started to really like Led Zeppelin. I think I have always liked the music, though. They just didn't really stand out for me before I was six. Know what I mean?

You know, I've never really had a favourite band - so it's hard to say when I've first started liking Led Zeppelin. I think I've always liked Led Zeppelin, but they were never really a favourite band. I do have two Zeppelin albums, though - Houses of the Holy and the untitled album. I can't say that I've ever really gotten into a specific band, though - if you know what I mean. I think I've always been aware of the band's name, and some of their songs - but they were never really a favourite band.

Do you guys understand what I'm saying? People are always asking me what my favourite band is, and I don't really have a favourite band. In fact, I don't even have a favourite song. I just like so many of them, it's hard to decide which is the best.

I was about nine, when I began to really notice Led Zeppelin. I was familiar with the name, and liked some of their songs, before I was nine. However, it was at the age of nine that I've started to really become interested in Led Zeppelin.

As my mom has said, I was seven when I first became interested in Led Zeppelin. I never disliked Led Zeppelin, though. I guess you could say that I was a casual fan before then. Just about all of us are casual fans of many artists, no? I mean, on average, most of us probably like songs by over a hundred artists - yet, we can't exactly say that we're big fans of all of them, right?

I'm just wondering. Does anyone here think that Led Zeppelin (or, at least, certain Led Zeppelin songs) is inappropriate for little kids? One of my friends is a Led Zeppelin fan, and she's expecting her first baby in a few months. She says that, as much as she would love for her children to become Zeppelin fans, too - she's not sure if it's real appropriate for really small kids to listen to. I know, most of you will probably say, just let them listen to Led Zeppelin! You may as well start them out young! Actually, my friend is wavering back and forth on this.

For those of you here who are parents: Debbey, Kierra, BobCaygeon, and ZeppelinMommy. Your kids listen to Led Zeppelin, right? Have you received much criticism for letting your kids listen to Led Zeppelin? If so, then on what grounds?

I don't really see what's so bad about letting kids listen to Led Zeppelin. I've been a fan since I was six - although, I think I've always liked the music. I dont think Led Zeppelin is lyrically all that inappropriate for kids - especially when you compare it to a lot of the newer music. Now that I would be a little concerned about letting your kids listen to.

Now here's my question: do you think it's okay to let kids listen to The Tragically Hip?

I was six, when I've first started liking Led Zeppelin. It was D'yer Mak'er that got me hooked. I used to call it The Oh-Oh Song. I think it's okay for kids to listen to Led Zeppelin.

Well, look at it this way. I'd much rather see small children listening to Led Zeppelin, then listening to a lot of this rap stuff that has extremely vulgar lyrics. I think, if you start them out young, they'll be more likely to like Led Zeppelin, as they get older. They might go through a period of time when they would rather listen to the newer music - but the chances of them returning to liking Led Zeppelin are highly probable.

Peace out.

Yeah, I've talked to my friend about this yesterday - and she's pretty well decided, 'What the heck?' So I have a feeling she'll be raising her kid on Led Zeppelin from day one. I did tell her, though, that she should play other music, too, around her child - so that her child doesn't get burnt out on Led Zeppelin. Yeah, it doesn't necessarily guarantee that your child won't go through a period of time of not liking Led Zeppelin. However, the probability of him or her one day returning to Led Zeppelin is pretty high.

I think I was six, when I first started liking Led Zeppelin. My parents already had Led Zeppelin Four - and I really liked it, whenever my parents play that album. So, I would always ask my parents, 'Can we listen to that Led Zeppelin CD?' So that's when I first became a fan.

You know, I think the first song I've heard by Led Zeppelin was Whole Lotta Love. I remember really liking that song.

Yeah, I think Whole Lotta Love was their first major hit. Although, they did have a fairly minor hit with Dazed and Confused. I think it was Stairway to Heaven, though, that really pushed them to their popularity.

My sister, Angie, has been into Led Zeppelin a little longer than I have. I think she was about 15, when she began to really like Led Zeppelin. My kids have been Zeppelin fans for a little over a year, now. Alisha was four… and Aimee was six. Since my kids have started to like Led Zeppelin, I have started to like them more, as well. It is kind of funny how one minute, Alisha wants me to sing Five Little Monkeys with her… then she wants to hear Led Zeppelin Two. I guess it's kind of a nice balance, though. My girls also really like their cartoons a lot. Yeah, they still watch Sesame Street.
