Dream Stories ( 23:56:05 SunJun 27 2004 )

I was reading this thread of if people believe in supernatural occurrences - and the topic of dreams in particular interested me. Here is one I posted awhile back:

Well, sometimes I have dreams where either my aunt - who died as a young child - or my older sister - who my mom miscarried - talks to me and do things with me. These are among my most pleasant dreams.

what's up?

yes, speaking of dreams, i've also had dreams of a staircase leading to heaven - and i would be playing with the heavenly children, and sometimes the heavenly children would teach me messages. this would count as supernatural, right?

keep wining

Hey, those are very interesting, Holly and WeepingWidow7!! :azzler: I think what got me interested in supernatural stories in the first place is when I was 10 years old and I started having dreams that I was my grandma when she was my age. You see, my grandma grew up during World War 2, when she was in England. She was taking refuge in a room with some other kids her age - some Jewish - when the Nazi's had invaded England. I remember having these dreams through Grandma's eyes - and they would happen recurringly until Grandma and the other kids were finally told that it was safe to leave. I remember keeping a dream journal and jotting down those dreams. When I had shown Grandma the journal - she was shocked and amazed by the accuracy of those events. Shortly afterward, I became interested in the subject of dream interpretations. Some people try to come up with non-paranormal explanations for those dreams - like maybe my grandma told me those stories when I was young, and my subconscious just remembered them. But my grandma insists that she had never told me those stories. Since my grandma is a firn believer in telling the truth - I don't think she would lie about it. Also, she thought I was too young to be exposed to that stuff - and strongly discouraged me from telling my friends about it. But it's not like I would have told my friends anyway - for fear that they would laugh at me.

And also, have you also read Frank Peretti's book, Tilly. This is a very easy-to-read book - I think you would find it in the "religious" or "inspirational" section of the book store. This is about a couple who discovers a grave with just the word "Tilly" on it. This sends the wife into a mad state of grief. What happened was this she had aborted a baby nine years ago - even though, somehow they had managed to bury it deep in their subconscience. Anyway, what happens in the story is that the wife - after a few weeks of depression and detachment from reality - she finally falls asleep. After she falls asleep, she dreams about being in heaven, and meeting this Tilly. In the meantime, her husband does some investigation to find out who this Tilly is. As it turns out, her husband gets told that Tilly was their daughter, who they aborted nine years ago. But while the husband is collecting info on Tilly - her mother is in heaven spending time with Tilly, who is a very energetic girl. This little girl, Tilly, teaches her mother a lesson of love and forgiveness. She is having so much fun with her lost daughter, that she does not want to leave. But she has to leave, when her husband wakes her up to meet this lady who had barried the daughter that she had aborted. Again, this is a must read for fans of paranormal dreams or stories that teach an important lesson.

I find this dream thing to be quite fascinating myself. Some dream interpreters will insist that dreams only come from the subconscious - never from paranormal beings. While other dream interpreters will insist that sometimes paranormal beings will speak to people through their dreams. Fascinating stuff, eh?

I could go to the library with Bethany tomorrow, and show her this thread. She is kinda shy about joining - but I've assured her that she really has nothing to worry about.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I would like to share a dream with you guys, as well. It was a recurring dream that some friends and I had where this little blonde girl kept popping up in our dreams. Later on, we found out that this little girl had died in our town back in the 70s. I'll go more into detail on this later. I wonder if my friends still want to talk about this.
