12/6/1969 - Four people died during a free concert given by the Rolling Stones. One of the deaths was a stabbing that occurred near the stage. The event was recorded and released a year later.
12/6/1970 - "Gimme Shelter," the documentary film about the Rolling Stones' 1969 tour of the U.S. debuted. |

It's really sad about the deaths, but I love Gimme Shelter.

I kind of do wonder if it was a coincidence that the documentary was released exactly a year after the tragic deaths. It probably wasn't - it was probably planned.

It would seem planned to me too. I guess some people might view it as a commemoration and others might find it offensive. If it were my relative, well, I don't even want to go there

Yeah, I can understand where some would see that as offensive. It was a bit tacky to release the documentary on the same date the following year.

I agree that they should have picked a different day to release the documentary. I can only imagine how the friends and relatives of the victims felt about it.

That maybe figured that it would be some sort of commemoration.

Well, I won't judge them. What's done is done, and I can understand both sides of the situation.
Peace out.

Well, let's give them the benefit of the doubt. I'm sure they were not meaning to be insensitive.
