Retiring Life member!!!

Two Awl of Ewe!!
It is with regret that we inform all our SORC friends that Lynn and I are giving up our Lifetime Grid Spot. Since moving back to New York it has become apparent that the trip out to Arnold has gotten a bit too far.
Please know that we will always treasure the friendships we made at SORC and MKM. To have been a part of this special group doing what we did out west will always rank highly in our memories. After all , how many folks get to do what is done in open road racing. Very cool.
Our Vette will now do some old fashioned rally stuff, weekend trips etc. I am close to having my 1924 stock Model T ready to go.A great car for grandkids and ice cream.
Auction off our spot but tell the lucky bidder that they have big shoes to fill. We did win our class one year and never scratched the paint!!! #76 will live on, my grandkids race soap box with my number!
If any of our SORC friends are in the Buffalo area, we live on a small lake and you are invited for cocktails on Ponton's Pontoon boat.
Too many names to mention, but thanks for the ride!

Dear Quad Squad Subcommander and his most able Navigator,

We will really miss you guys. You were some of the first people we met at SORC 10 years ago and we always looked forward to catching up on news each year. When we grid up this year, you will be in our thoughts.

It was very considerate of you to notify SORC that you were surrendering your lifetime number. It allows for someone else to have a guaranteed entry so they can have the fun we've all had. And, the money from the auction helps Arnold too. What a great gift you just gave to the event.

Blessings on all your future endeavors.

Bob and Lynn...Tell me it isn't so!!!! You might be giving up your life number but, you can not give up your lifetime membership in The Quad Squad! Not sure what we will do without our Sub Commander and his lovely wife.

I agree with Ray, it is very noble to relinquish your life number. Not sure how they will handle it but I am sure the powers that be of the SORC will make good use of it.

Guess I'm going to have to stop in once in a while. I do like beer and boats! Of course anytime you guys come a little farther east...Please let me know....................... The Quad Squad misses you already!:ohwell:

Re: Retiring Life member!!!

Lynn and Bob,

This is sad news to hear. You guys have always been such great supporters of the SORC and everyone enjoyed your visits. I wish the best to you and hope that you will return sometime to the Arnold. Although you have retired your life number it won't be auctioned off for some time. We currently have a surplus of "Lifers" and do not want to put new entries at a greater disadvantage. The life number that was sold at last Saturdays winter party brought $9,000.00 from Rod Peterson from Sioux City, Iowa. Thanks again for all of your support.

We do hope to get to Arnold again in the future. Helping to keep my Dad (84) as independant as possible is our number one job right now. We would like to come to Arnold and WORK as volunteers. Without the wonderful folks who all the work, SORC would be just a day dream.
