Don't you hate it when people slash the characters(mostly the guys of Cars) with disturbing fanfics and/or fanart? Or they make them OOC(Out Of Character)? I do. But ScooterDocHudson is none of the above if you start asking me because:
1. Scooter is a GIRL. With a guy's name. Because I named her. 2. I am not altering Hudson's personality! Why the heck would I? Ok. That's about it. We will not be talking of anything else too gross or mature. Just giving my opinion.

I agree with you. This is why I don't bother to look at other people's art unless I know them. All that slash stuff is gross, disturbing and wrong. Can you imagine how the animators would feel to see their characters portrayed in this way? This is why I make my own art and stories because thent hey turn out the way I want them to.

Hey it still works. I wasn't sure if it would. Oh god why do these frigging fangirls do this. They slash the hell out of any movie, tv show, cartoon, videogame, etc. characters, and it pisses me off to no end. Might as well as humiliate them and draw them screwing their best friend or something. And DeviantArt is frigging flooded with this god awful crap.

Sounds about right to me Mexxo. And I agree with you too Darkness. Sad sad sad but what can you do about it? I think the few of us here that do make decent stories and art are doing our best to set a good example.

Fillmore and Sarge My comment- Honestly, this is so obvious that I made it 1st in line since many idiots slash them. Look, if Sarge didn't have Fillmore as his neighbor, his life would be boring. When we don't have obstacles in our life, it's going to be boring and stupid. So that makes it obvious that they're in love??? Please. No way. You guys know what I mean. 2. Lightning and Mater My comment- What the freakin' shiz???? Look, they're best friends and Lightning's in love with Sally. The people who didn't know that are losers and sick idiots for that. Jeez, get a life already. 3. Sheriff and Doc My comment- Not that I have read a horrible fanfic about them, it's that someone (I don't know whether boy or girl but who cares) had made a pic of that on dA. I can't believe people would torture innocent Doc. =C And just because Sheriff goes to talk to him about what's wrong with him in the clinic doesn't mean he just wants to see Doc. Gawd, these idiot girls need to put their dirty minds in the freaken washing machine already. Guys who could get slashed and my comments on it: 1. Luigi and Guido My comments- Boy am I glad this is non-existant right now! =] But I am strictly restraing any son of a (pigeon) bird NOT to do this. Because I said so. So don't get any stupid ideas. And nor I have any intention to do this. Jeez. Anyone getting any slashy ideas will have a bomb inserted in their mouth. And yes, the Disney/Pixar staff would be all "Oh goodness! Well unfortunately sometimes these people are also good artists. Perhaps she draws other things that aren't gross pictures of cars that are good and they might watch her for that too. I know I draw a bunch of different stuff and not just Cars so I have people that watch me for my cars art, for my bird art, for my demon art, for my old SpongeBob art (which I don't do anymore), for my Star Trek art and for my monster art. Few of them cross over and some of them have to wait until I switch back to older subjects. I know a lot of my demon fans are wondering when I'm going to get back to that since all I've been doing is Cars.

Slash and obscene pictures/dirty fics really REALLY do spoil a goos show. It happened to Transformers (and the sad thing is, Tommy-Takra [the people that own Transformers!! Well, one of them anyway] is now making a comic series of TF that is totally disgisting and so full of things I'd rather not mention) and now fans are doing it to Cars.
But what I hate the most... is when people HUMANISE the characters (turn the cars into people) and then slash them with other characters or themselves. I've noticed poor old Mater has become a victim of this on DA. I only saw one DA pic of a humised Mater that wasn't slash or paired or whatever.

Yes I agree with you though I am guilty of making Chick into a cowboy. I really didn't want to do it and I fought it, but the reason I did it was because I'd seen so many human cars (just standing around at least thank goodness) that were so BADLY drawn that I had to make one that was right. Many were anime style which I can't stand and one was so bad that they made Flo a white girl.
Transformers huh? I bet they could really mess that up too. Come on they are robots not animals!

That pic of Chic you did was really good; I actually imagined him to sort of look like that type of guy. He reminds me of the dude out of The Dukes of Hazard (I can't remember his name), who is sponsored by boss hog in the Hazard Rally (I guess the mostache and sleezyness did it lol). So yeha you did a good humanisation in that pic.
And I ahve to agree; making them as animals (no amtter WHAT they look like) is so annyoing. Especially when they do the thing where they draw them humanish with animal ears, tails and stuff. I forget what they call it... anthro or something? I really don't like any art like that; it's been done so many times, it's beyond being cliche. I think the main problem with humanising the characters is that rather than drawing them like they should be, people draw them how they want them to be (I think somebody already made that point, and I totally agree with them [I'm too lazy to reread the posts...]). And poor old transformers... it's had so much of this stuff done to it, it's kind of turning me off the show. I really hope this never happens to Cars so much so that it turns people off a great movie.

Other fans really suckand I have been turned off of many fandoms because of them. I'm notorious from going from one to another. Some can last a long time like years but if there are stupid jerky fans around to ruin the experience it ruins it and can make me move on quicker. Not good.
Thank you. I'm so glad you liked my Cowboy Chick. Dukes of Hazard huh? Are you talking about the movie? I never saw that, but I used to watch the TV show as a kid all the time. In the show Boss Hog was so fat and always wore white and was always eating. It was so funny. Oh you're talking about those anthros or furries. Yeah I can't stand those either. That's a totally fan made thing because I've never seen a cartoon about anything like that thank goodness. Though if anyone did it I know they'd probably become rich. All those people would be total fans.  I think one reason people change the characters is because they can't draw something say Cars, but animals are easier. Animals are also easier than people so what do they do? They draw animal people or Cars as animals because they can't draw. Also I don't know why people can't accept stuff for what it is so they have to change it to something else. In the art forum I have a rule against that so cars as animals aren't allowed.

Yeah I'm talking about the Dunkes of Hazard movie; I've never actually watched the TV series; I kindaforgot there was one until you mentioned it lol. I'm not sure if the guy in the movie I'm talking about (I can't find his name; not even on the official site or wikipedia!!) is in the original series; he might be, but I'm not sure. The movie is a good watch though, it's funny and if you love car stunts well... you'll deffiantly love the movie

I'm not into humanizing cars...cause I can't even match Scooter and Hudson without altering his age...and I tried to turn into K9 people because I loved my friends feline style and had to make my own, now I only humanize my OCs...but now they just look even crappier...I just love Cars as themselves...Well, there's this one time I dragonized Scooter...I'm not into anime either...can't find a good one I can relate to and I don't watch much of TV.
And yeah, I saw Cowboy Chick before...not my favorite character, but good realism.

Since all the official Cars literature is written for the Little Golden Book crowd, fanfiction writers do have to take some license with the characters and create situations that would not be present in a G-rated movie if their goal is to keep the interest of older readers. I've read a lot of Cars-fics that manage to do this quite well and I hope I accomplished it in my own writing. Des did this in Boost Exposed. Her street rumble scene was great but I doubt it would've flown in a real Pixar script. It would've confused the kiddies.
And yet if you change too much about the Cars universe your work soon becomes "loosely based on the movie" at best. But no matter how far art or writing strays from the canon world of Cars and no matter how squicky it might be, it will never ruin the movie for me. My Cars fandom is secure enough that I won't cede my enjoyment of the movie to anyone. I think the writers and artists aren't putting fingers to keys and pen to paper with the intention of turning fellow fans off Cars, but their sense of humor doesn't always jive with my own. (Then again, often it does. Slash can be flat-out funny and even more so when it's vehicles. That's just my two cents.) I imagine slash is a love-it-or-hate-it thing, but it can make for an enjoyable read if the author has tried to avoid OOCness and not made it an "Any Two Guys" slashfic. For the reasons given in earlier posts in this thread I'm not a big fan of most main-character slash shippings, but there's a well-written Wingo/Snot Rod story on FF.Net about Wingo's dream to become a racer. The author kept the two cars in character, and there's so little known about these two relatively minor characters that he or she had a lot of leeway in writing about them. The slash is a very minor and non-distracting element of the story rather than PWP (porn without plot.) |

Well I'm glad all the official books are kept G rated in the light of the movie. I bet you I'm probably the oldest member here and I didn't get into this fandom because it was adult. It kept my interest just fine with the way the movie is. BTW, thank you for reading my story. I'm glad you liked it. But I didn't cross the line into porn which is what slash is only it's covered up with this new term to make politically correct, though it's anything but correct. No of course my story wouldn't have made it into the official works because this is Disney we are talking about. But it was still violent enough for my taste. After all just look what Chick did to King. I loved that scene. Made a whole video about it. In Toy Story they dropped a wonderful idea about Buzz and Woody getting tortured by Cid. Too bad but thank goodness for DVD extras. Now I can splice it into the movie as though it had never been removed.
Also I don't read other people's stories much...if any. I really have a lot more fun just working with my own plots so I have no interest for what's on FF net and I refuse to get an account there. Why should I when I have my own webspace? Anyway, I do not want prono promoted or supported on my board. I make that very clear in the rules. That kind of trash I can do without and they can keep it on ffnet or where ever that kind of thing is allowed.
