Ok, I've made this topic so we can post everything we know about the Spongebob movie until, well, 2004 I guess. Right now we don't know much, but as the days go by more and more things will be revealed. Remember, FACTS ONLY, not just a rumour you heard about it or what you think will happen.
Alright, all we know so far is that it will be coming to theaters sometime in 2004. According to Tom Kenny and Dark Horizons, the plot will consist of Patrick getting captured and taken up on land in Florida, and revolving around their quest to get him back. Maybe you could consider that a rumour, but if it really is coming from Tom Kenny...

TZ says not till January 1, 2005, other sites say 2004, one site said at the end of 2003...ugh. We'll just have to wait and see... On a better note, all I have to say is sweet! A Spongebob movie! Hopefully it won't be like a TV show epsidoe and be a flop...

Other Nick movies have usually come out in Dec/Nov, so I think that the movie will come out in...Dec/Nov. I know no other details, I just wanted to share this info with you guys.

IMDB (Internet Movie Database) says that is is coming out in 2004, I believe it's in August.
The plot sounds great, and I bet they will be walking around in the real world alot, it's gonna be so cool! WOO! Hmmm...I wonder if people are going to be lining up overnight to see this movie. Like they did with Lord of the Rings and Star Wars.

Yeah, if it was a serious movie, I doubt it would do anything at the box office, so I can almost conferm that it will be a comedy:

The hit kids TV show will soon come to the big screen and 'Tecnodrome' has details on the storyline which sounds very Finding Nemo-esque: "I just attended a seminar by Tom Kenny, the voice of Spongebob Squarepants, and the topic of the Spongebob movie came up. While he was being very tight-lipped about the whole thing, he still slipped out a brief plot synopsis. Apparently the story follows Patrick getting caught by a fisherman, and he gets taken to an aquarium or shop of some kind in Florida. And the adventure basically follows Spongebob and friends on a quest to get him back. He sounded really excited about it, and explained that this was the reason for the decrease in new Spongebob tv shows, but that it will definitely be worth it because he knows its gonna be 'really funny'".

I've got an idea for a trailer. Here:
(Screen is black) Announcer: This November... Announcer: Absorbancy reaches a new maximum... Kids, in background, faint: Spongebob Squarepants! Announcer: It's coming... Painty the Pirate, in background, faint: Are ya ready kids? Announcer: You better be ready. Spongebob: I'm reday! I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready... ('November 19, 2004' slams on screen; Spongebob continues saying 'I'm ready through the rest of the commercial.) If the November date is finalled, then we should be seeing a trailer for it in "Rugrats Go Wild" this summer. Either that, or: #1, we might see it in the new rumored Nickelodeon Christmas movie that is about Santa Claus, or we might see it in the video for Rugrats Go Wild. Now, the possibility of a SBSP movie announcement in RGW is enough of a reason to go see it. The other reason is Spike in counsling.  Remember how early they were announcing Jimmy Neutron... I remember first seeing the commercial in theatres December of 2000, a year before the movie itself came out. So... who knows? |

That would suck. I wouldn't want to sit in a theater for aan hour and a half watching a kitchen sponge and real starfish bob around on a stick. That's why I think the plot will be changed.
