How are you doing Ed? If the boys call we will post, unless someone else has some contacts.

I wish I knew how to do internet audio broadcasts so I could cover the away games live. If anyone can help set it up I'd love to cover them and we wouldn't have to wait for people to update us on their cellphones (thanks to those who have done so, though).

Re: March 22nd Kerry Park and Storm ( 06:20:45 ThuMar 23 2006 )

I was there for the first two periods but had to get home. Plus I am not sure I could watch anymore anyhow. Game ended 10 - 4 for Kerry Park. Here is what I saw:

Our first goal was within the first 1 1/2 minutes. We got a second goal about half way through the period. We gave them back a goal with less than two minutes remaining when one of our defensemen coughed up the puck when hit within 4 fett of Abbot.
On our power play we did not put out our best in that period which was suprising as Clark, Hulme and Pierce seemed to be developing some chemistry in that department. They didn't go out once together and Martin just seemed to play who is out next.
In the second they had scored two goals in less than 5 minutes. again we were defensively challenged by everyone on the ice. We were just standing around almost, nobody taking a man.
After the 4th goal, Martin pulled Abbot. Now sometines when a goalie is pulled mid game the team gets stronger for the cold goalie. Unfortunately, Hudson was very cold as he has not played in 10 games. Martin should have had him in at least for the Sooke games. It was very unfair to expect him to perform with so little ice time. the poor guy let in 2 of his first 5 shots, including a break away one on one. He was looking better when I left.
Actually, there was a goal about 20 after the 6th goal in the second but I had to go and I anm not sure it counted. That would have made it 7 - 3 after the second.
When I left we were starting to take penalties and scrambling on the ice. It wasn't pretty.
We were outplayed and most definitely outcoached as Martin didn't even try to put a strong power play out when we had the opportunites. He needs to get control of the team when they are down and put his best men forward when it counts. Power play comes to mind.
Just my opinion and I'm sure someone will see it differently.
P.S. The two periods that I saw Cetrone play, he looked like he was there to play hockey and was doing great. He kept his head on his shoulders and when he does that he plays great hockey as the score card shows.

and this is the team holding the keystone, wow. The d-men are absolutely gross. Bunch of pylons. Get use to mr twan as he burned you for 4 goals. No answer for kp's speed on the back end.

stormiefan-Thankyou for the game report. Hudson did play the last game of the CR/Sooke series so I do disagree with your 10 games since he has played comment. I will wait till I see Friday's game before disagreeing with any of your Storm player/coaching assesments. The Victoria Salsa have pulled out 2 wins against Port Alberni Mon+Tues after losing 13-2 to them on Saturday. Hoping the Storm can make a similar turnaround on KP on Fri.

KP beat the Panthers 12-4 in game five of their series and the Panthers came back to win the next game 2-1. It can happen. The coach may have to shorten his bench and put out the best players.... it's playoffs, the Storm need to win the next game and change the momentum. Realistically though, I don't see that happening (I mean the Storm winning not the coach shortening the bench).
