Greetings and good evening all. I am now convinced that batteries or lack of them is a major problem. First two shots through the chrony were 1065fps and 1045fps followed by 841fps, 790fps and 450fps. Fired the next shot at a coffee can barely made it through one side.I always thought it was the chrony giving false readings. The gun was with a 15 inch barrel. Iwas using n's (old) and 2 watch batteries which had seen better days. I am khow convinced that 18 volts and amps will make a world of difference. I am going to try 2 9 volt lantern batteries in series. This should give me 18 volts and lots of amps. I need imput. Do the lantern batteries have too much amps. Spitfire chime in spitfire.Got an e-mail this morning from Spitfire. He made a couple pionts about batteries. The watch bar=tteries are the weak link. Most important when using them is turn the gun on for a full minute before you fire the first shot.It takes the caps about that time to full charge.Take one shot through the chrony. Wait another minute.Shoot again. Those first shots across the chrony where most likely real and the falling fps's real because the caps or cap was not fully charging.I am going to get some new watch batteries and AA's today or tommorrow. I am going to give this a new try. GD.
