Need help mounting laser
Hello,
I recently found this forum and it's great!
I have a question. Does anyone know of a third party 3/8" dovetail mount that can be glued or screwed to the 2003 somehow? I bought a laser sight that I would like to mount to a 2003 but there's no dovetail. The sight came with an adapter to mount it to the trigger-guard, and it works pretty well but I'd really rather do it with a dovetail mount. If there's nothing like this, can anyone tell me a good way to cut or carve accurate and fairly professional looking slots in the top of the gun that would give me a good grip to mount the sight to. It doesn't seem like it would be that hard to do--just making it look good seems like the hardest part. I'm open to any other suggstions too.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH

Re: Need help mounting laser
I was considering attaching a dovetail adaptor to my 2003 but realised that it would mean making alterations to the internals to allow clearance for the screws/bolts fixing it to the top of the slide. In the end I made a couple of mounts for the fore-end of the slide that gripped the weaver mount that came with my laser.

You can see the result in my 'for sale' thread.

Since the cheap laser does not have adjustments I made the mount adjustable - slots for range and shims for windage.
