EBOS mods
i am a pebbles throw away from buying the ebos. all the posts a received on another post are trying to convince me to buy the metal storm instead. it is due to the slow fire rate in auto (which makes a ton of sense). but i really like the muzzle velocity of the ebos. but i found this on the drozd. it seems to make sense also. has anyone tried this to increase the rate of fire on the ebos since the battery configuration is the same ? i found a person on you tube p that came up with a bulk air mod for the ebos. here are the manuals for the drozd and the ebos. check the battery link also.

Re: EBOS mods
I haven't playred with the ROF, but I did finally buy both guns & neither one is a disappointment.
(Now I see that Pyramyd Air has the UZI for less than $150 USD...)
The "chug-chug" ROF on the EBOS has its appeal & I'm sure you'll be happy.
Is there someone who will let you test fire theirs?

but i never checked the uzi. im gonna check it out now.
hey ! what the heck ! the 50 caliber machine gun doesnt fire all that fast either, and look at the damage that does.

Re: EBOS mods
As I have replied on other threads I have both. I have not been able to directly compare them at the same time yet. I will restate some of the pro's and con's/

EBOS has it on power in stock form.
EBOS has a motor that controls rate of fire, but I am some one will fix that and make for faster rates.
EBOS&STORM On CO2 the faster the rate of fire the quicker it will freeze and slow down
EBOS The cover on the bb reservoir is easy to bump open while shooting.
BOTH Both need to be bulked as they will shoot up many dollars worth of CO2 carts in a few minutes. ebos carts are $9/10 bucks a pop
STORM was surprisingly loud...that means to me wasted gas you get back with a longer barrel and thus faster speeds.
BOTH Both the burst limits are no big deal. On extended full auto they will both freeze unless using a conversion to air.
BOTH some people complain on sights and put scopes and red dots on but they are both bb guns and not accurate enough to warrant any such sights. with open sights you can see the bb's if the light is right just like a tracer. a laser would work good in lower light too.
I got my storm as a refurbish for $55 and the ebos with free shipping and would do it again. airgundepot is out of the refurbs now and it took a 2 month wait after I paid but worth it. I say get both. john

Re: EBOS mods
That is all excellent information !
Thanks for the reply.
My brother used to do paintball, so he told me he has 4 bottles that fit the EBOS (and has a freind that gives him a break on refills), but my plan is deffinitely to go to bulk air.
Right now the money doesnt dictate both, so im gonna give the EBOS a shot (excuse the pun).
Thanks again to everyone on this post for the great info.
either way, im going to have a lot of fun.

Re: EBOS mods
I have one last stupid question.
i just ordered the EBOS.
i know bulk air or refills are the way to go.
i found a 88g bb gun adapter to a paintball gun tank adapter.
i know 88 grams are equal to a little over 3.5 oz.
i should be able to add the adapter and then screw in the 3.5 oz co2 refillable in its place, right ?
if the stock that comes with the EBOS doesnt fit, i should be able to add one of these buttstock plates as a stock.
my question is, does it make a difference if i use a 3.5, 5, or 12 oz co2 refillable ?

is the pressure different ?

like i mentioned in a previous post. my brother has a tone of paintball tanks, and can get me a discount refill.

any advice ?
I already made my gun chice, and my baby is on the way !
i cant wait.

Re: EBOS mods
Doesn't matter what size the pressure of a CO2 tank goes around 750 psi at normal temps unless it's warmed up then it increases. Larger tanks won't cool down as fast while shooting. IMO the best approach is a remote - more comfortable to shoot and doesn't change the layout.

Re: EBOS mods
I second the need for a remote. that is what I have on my ebos and can use the plastic stock that comes with the gun. the inside of that stock has just barily enough room for the 88 gram. I know there is no paint ball tank that would fit. the diameter is too big. a coiled hose with the tank on you belt is the only way. if you ever went for the air conversion you would not have to touch the gun, just screw on a regulated air tank to the end of hose on your belt. john

All excellent points.
Thanks !
I saw the video on youtube to mod to a remote.
I can still use my Bros tanks, and not have to worry about the size.
and like i said before.

hey fdelapena !
i was the one that sent you tha info.

It was mostly your videos on the ebos that made me get one.

I did mod mine with the 20oz tank (a little different than yours, but it works.

Im still waitinf for a longer barrel mod and hopefully a faster rate or full auto mod.

Im no electronics major, but since the actuators are worked by a curcuit board, im sure someone will come out with a modded board soon.

and "yes" everyone else. the hopper is up front on my brand new gun. but i gotta say "ITS A LOT OF FUN !!!!".

Re: EBOS mods
Hopefully the picture will work this time. I had to use an adatper of 88g to full size. The thread side of the 88g has to be an extra long neck to reach inside the gun.

Ignore teh make shift barrel extention. Since this picture I had the barrel threaded and added a "polar star" mock silencer/barrel extension and will take and upload a new picture. Works great.

This tank is a 9oz air tank inside an AR stock. The tank has an on/off knob as you can see.

Re: EBOS mods
Just snapped these to upload. The mocksilencer is actually a barrel extention. Called a "Polar Star" .. made of highgrade aluminum. It is made for teh airsoft gun Mac 11. Threads are wide. It was easy to have the barrel of the EBOS threaded for me. screws on tight and straight... I should have thought about this a long time ago.

Re: EBOS mods
Looks Great !
I saw your post prior about the 88g adapter being too deep.

I'll tell you what i did.
i took a spent 88g canister.
Cut the end off aboy 3/4" above where the threads stop.
you dont have to do the next step if you dont want, but i have a lathe, and used it to square off the edges, to give it a neat look.
I then tapped the inside if that peice with a 1/4"npt tap to accomodate the quick disconnect adapter.

drill a nice clean hole on the bottom of the ebos stock to put the mass co2 like through, and you have a quick disconnect adapter that fits the ebos correctly.

pretty simple. should look like this.

and it saves the cutting of orings that leak, like the mod they show on youtube.

Nice mod. My 88g adapter which holds a full size tank has a longer neck than normal to reach inside ... I will post a pic later. It will allow for a paintball size constant air connection too... I have to try your mod.

Re: EBOS mods
Hey guys do you think the EBOS will hold up to HP air?

Figuring 3000 psi set at only 800 or 850 output is not much more powerful than co2 at 850 psi or is it?

I really would like the more consistant pressure exspecally since I like cool weather!

Also has anyone figured out a way to tighten up the stock, hopper or keeping the batterys from rocking themselves to death from the shaking/loading. So far my main complaint.

Thanks for your help.

Re: EBOS mods
I cant see the difference ?
850 psi is 850 psi.
plus, that may solve the freezing up during extended multi round bursts.
I cant see any way of tightening the stock, other than a few tests with shimming. and that goes for the batteries as well.
I hadnt run into a lot of loose stock or rocked batteries problems. especially, since i drilled the bottom of the stock out and went with bulk co2.
let me know how you make out.

I just went to bulk air on my EBOS.
I have a UTG red/green illuminated reticule DOT scope, and fake suppressor, and UTG front grip. I added risers on the upper and lower rails so that the rails are metal, and added a flash light for a pistol.....

I am going to use the HPA system instead of the bulk CO2. I will let you know how it goes this weekend.

Re: EBOS mods
The suppressor is an 8.25" JBU for Airsoft guns. It has a large threaded end that was perfect for the EBOS. I used a Dremmel with a drum sander bit and shrunk the diameter of the EBOS barrel tip down to the size of the threaded opening of the suppressor. I went slow and checked several times so that I did not make it too small/thin. Then once the diameter was very close but not too small I stopped sanding and threaded the barrel on. The plastic on the gun is soft and the barrel will cut its own thread, so make sure that the barrel is just slightly larger than the threads of the silencer so that they can bite into the barrel. Brace the gun, unloaded and on safe, barrel tip upwards and thread silencer on with downward force. It is a process that requires some skill and common sense so that if you notice that the silencer is not threading straight or if it is not cutting into the barrel you can see this and stop and make adjustments. Once it is installed, a bead of epoxy will hold it in place.

I shot 8 round bursts with low pressure CO2 and bb's got caught in the silencer. With HPA this does not happen. I unscrewed the cool end cap which made the discharge of a round louder. It also stops any BB's from getting caught in the tube. I am going to thread back on the silencer end cap this weekend and see how different it sounds and if any BB's get caught with the bulk air HPA system.

It does no good to get custom regulators at 1250psi because the gun has an internal regulator which is why it is very hard to get any single shot rounds to exceed 600fps. Fully charged, 3000psi HPA can shot the chrony at 595fps on single rounds. 4 round bursts were 530-545fps, and 8 round were averaging 520fps. Cyclic rate was 500 rounds per minute. I am going to see if 8 round picks up with 300 rounds per minute cyclic. If not, I will probably stick to semi-auto rapid fire. I get more punch that way.

I am making CO2 bombs out of water bottles with vinegar and baking soda for detonating targets. I don't shake them up as much as others do before setting them because I don't want them to self detonate. When you hit them they make a cool boom, especially out in an open field with echo effect. you can research these on youtube, they make really fun targets, but you got to be careful.

I also have orange clay targets from Walmart to tear up. My 11 year old daughter got the Crosman M4 too! Here is a pic of her rig.....

Re: EBOS mods
I want to add that the HPA system is WAAAYYYYYY better than the bulk CO2! If you are thinking of going bulk air, get the adapter from Pyramid Air. Then get a remote line rig like mine. Drill a hole in the stock to get the quick disconnect through and then feed the line into the stock, connect it after everything is tight, snap the stock into place, and then take out any slack line. Then hook it up to a 20oz bottle and let it ride! It was way better and stronger than CO2! It was stronger mainly due to consistency and NO FREEZING or gas lag from CO2 liquid turning to gas. HPA is also an ALL Temperature system, so it doesn't matter how cold it is outside. If you want to blast you can go blast!!!! However, I would stay above 40F because if you get down to freezing(32F) plastic can become brittle and crack/break easily.

I will need to make a video if I can get some of the vinegar/baking soda bottles to pop loudly!

Re: EBOS mods
Just purchase the HPA tanks for paintball. A 3000psi 20oz tank with built in gauge costs about $60. The HPA air tank doesn't require any further mods and the remote line you are using will thread right on! It only costs $3 to refill them at the paintball store too! I love having a local Bing Shop!

Re: EBOS mods
I would suggest getting a bigger tank, like 88 gram, at 4500PSI

4500 psi tanks, compared to the same size 3000psi tanks last longer, more shots.

Fiber tanks are light weight too.

Re: EBOS mods
If you have access to tippman paintball gun parts, the barrels will slip right over the short barrel of the EBOS. I had to add about 5 wraps of silicone thread tape to make it a real tight fit. I am turning a delrin cap for it and would like to add a longer barrel insert also. I got the Paintaball barrel used for $5 at the flea market and it looks great on the gun. Actually made the gun a little louder even though it has holes near the muzzle like a brake. Shot the Steel Storm to death literally. Since I got the EBOS and bulked it, I have shot 8K rounds through it without a hiccup. I like to run the bottles direct as opposed to using a remote coil. Took the rear sight off and added a red dot as well.

Hopper door can be easily heated and bent slightly upward to make the door stay closed much better. Remove cover with 2 screws, note small tab on sliding door, heat (can use a match if you don't have a torch), and bend slightly in center so that the tab on the door engages the cover better. Really helps keep the door closed. I also cut off part of the inner divider covering the hole that goes to the magazine and enlarged the magazine hole slightly with a dremel. Now the magazine fills almost instantly with a simple tilt and shake.
