removing the solenoid!

Refer to the Exploded View of the Drozd in the Owner's Manual that came with your Bumble Bee.

We keep reading about how hard the solenoid is to "break" or "pop" free when removing it for refinishing the stock. The trick to this is to simply back out the retaining Screw #12 to the upper right of the Electromagnet/solenoid #18. It cinches up its own knurled Nut #13 that locks the solenoid in place. It does this by tightening the Insert #14. Just tap gently on the retaining screw and that will loosen up the knurled nut. The solenoid will then unscrew easily with two fingers and the insert will slip right out. No sweat.

If you don't do this, the knurled nut will still be held tightly in place and create a lot of pressure to overcome. This is what gives the "pop" when it breaks free. Scary and unnecessary. By tapping the knurled nut outward with its own screw it removes all tension.

Before backing out the Electromagnet/solenoid, however, take note of its position or measure the distance from the frame to the face of the solenoid. If you're happy with the way your gun shoots then screw it back into the same position again when you reassemble being certain to take up the slack in the frame Insert #14 by pushing it with your finger tightly against the stock's frame.

If you want more shots per powerlet, back the Electromagnet up a turn or two. Less shots, simply move it up by screwing it in a little more...makes a noticeable difference without fussing with the potentiometer adjustment screw behind the glued in plug on the right above the trigger...a part of the circuit board. You can fine tune using either method or both.
