Re: Co2 limits on a very hot day.

Thanks to all the people that responded.Old pistolpacker your has to be able to handlyresponds was most important,Yes a drozd using co2 must be able to handle co2 on a very hot day.The burst dics must give way before the gun explodes.( hopefully).I don't khow the level that they would give way but it must be above 1199psi.The problem is that the vavle won't open fully after 1050 psi using AA's batteries. Nobody has tried n-batteries which are 70% more voltage past 1070 psi. with HPA.I am getting my reg shimmed next week.Hopefully around 1100psi.I will give my idea a try. That's if the shim idea works.

Half-Heimer's , I have it too! It goes great on steaks on the grill!

I remember looking out the window at my car on a hot day and seeing a scene reminiscient of a Cheech and Chong movie from a burst disc going on a full co2.

Re: Co2 limits on a very hot day.

I've got Half-Heimer's so I don't recall the pressure increase. I just know that the CO2 can COMPLETELY turn from liquid to gas under hot weather conditions. Something rings a bell that it is around 1,200 psi at that point which is pushing the limits of the burst disks. I've had them blow on hot days and scare the heebies out of me. You can find the exact information by doing Google searches or by waiting patiently for Leonardo deJimC to respond because that guy is a walking encyclopedia.

The reason I am really responding to this is simply because it clicked that I've had such conditions existant with my Drozd guns many times and they have continued to function well. It would seem then that our discussions about the safe psi capabilities and functionality of the magazine valve and electromagnet would not or SHOULD not be a problem at those pressures. That had never crossed my little pea brain (one size bigger than a BB).

Co2 limits on a very hot day.

Co2 is unreulated in a Drozd. On a very hot day say 95 to100 degrees F..What is the max pressure in the gun and at what pressure are the burst disk set at?
