You have to unscrew the collet holding the solenoid (not motor) in place and also take out the screw in the frame just above it. There should be just enough slack to pull the solenoid to the rear and out.
If I do it again I will remove the wires at the solenoid and re-solder them upon reassembly. It would make it easier to unscrew the collet piece. | ||||

I'm trying to take apart my Drozd to make some of the modifications discussed on this board, but I'm having some trouble. It seems like the wires from the motor to the battery compartment are too short to allow me to take it apart completely. Anybody else have this problem? Any suggestions? Thanks.
