Range test #2......2500 psi, 3/4 plywood set out to 90 feet. I dont really know the limits on Air Rifles so this is all new to me. Most of my targets are going to be in the 90-120 foot range. One thing for sure, using a hand pump to refill this bad boy might not be the best thing to do for everyone. I must have pumped this thing up 10 times yesterday and at the last session I began to feel it. I am averaging 25-35 shots if I fill to 2k psi and 40-60 shots to 3k psi. I really need to get a chrony to see where this things best powerband is at.
I thought at 90 feet the pellet would simply imbed into the wood. I was a bit surprised to see wood flying out of the back once I began. I used Beeman Kodiaks 21g for all my testing which are very heavy pellets. This is my first .22 Cal Air Rifle so if any1 knows what kind of limitations I can expect as far as range, please let me know. SO far though I am pretty impressed. 2500 psi 3/4 PlyWood 90 feet Beeman Kodiaks 21g out of 6 shots, I missed once. 3 shots went clean through the wood.

New toy added to the collection. Will get interesting once the wife learns theres a new toy in the collection hehehe! Tried this puppy out and WOW. This thing packs some serious punch. Superbly constructed, no plastic, real wood the whole schebang. Loaded her up with Beeman Kodiaks .22 and put a few down range. Thing sounds like a 22 going off I swear. Going to try it at 2k psi at some 3/4 ply from 50 feet and see what she does. I was told this thing is near 1000 fps with .22 at 2500 or so. Wish I had a chrony cause it sure feels like its as stated. Enjoy the pics!

Oooooh, the humanity!
You know the old saying, "I have tried to keep up with the Jones' and was doing pretty well. Then the Jones' refinanced." Keeping up with Radical is utterly impossible but he put me onto the GSG-5P and I just hadda do it. Thanks for everything, Mr. Radical Jones.

Exactly right. Though the Tokarev round may cycle in a 7.63 Mauser, the specific shape and crimp on the bullet is different, as well as Pops said somewhat hotter primed than the 7.63. I believe the Mauser .30 has a slight edge on accuracy from al Ive read

POPS will let you know when it arrives. I strip all my purchases and inspect before ever attempting to fire. Its going to be a tad difficult to track down a good source of.30 Mauser, but its out there. Theres a gunshow the 12th and 13th Ill see then what I can find. Will keep all posted-Rad

The Mauser pistol was first developed just before the turn of the century. The Luger first appeared around 1912, but I dont know much yet about eithers history

Radical,
The original receivers were milled froma block of steel. They then changed it to the stamped sheet metal, which you have, and used the "M", for "Modified" in the AKM part of the model number. The "47" is for the year the gun was designed, 1947. The suffix "S" is to designate "Semi-auto" They also have a model AK-74 that was a design in 1974, shoots a 5.45 x 39.5 soviet cal. You can find info about them on the internet.

The markings call it an AKM47S. Now I know these as the transitional AKs from Polytech to Norinco and the earliest form of the 56s-1. In dont know if Im right but Im interested in knowing where this version fits into the history.
I picked this up for a little over 700.00. Finish is original and metal is spotless. The stamp on the receiver is mor defined than any Ive seen. Not a pencil job. Every piece of metal matches. Im thinking this is a Poly to Norinco transitional AK. In any case its pretty sweet. ![]() ![]() ![]() [ Too Many Images In Post; Maximum 3 ]
