Velocity difference from say from 15.4 vs. the 24?
6 3.7v (AA configured) Lithium Ions charged to 4v in the stock compartment possible / ideal? Out going volts to the mag motor similar to stock levels? Don't won't to split my mag along the bb channel. ![]()

Greetings and Good Morning Totlah. Keep up the great work.We are all waiting for your finally results. It looks like an amazing board. I believe Sergey has done an amazing job. This board moves the drozd/BB to a new level.Combined with a high cap magazine it leaves everything else in the dust. This gun with these new mods makes like a new gun. Also we need to mention Zaitsev new gasket. Now we have 2 huge improvements in a short period of time. As soon as I put togther Zaitsev gasket I am sure the sound barrier will fall.I need less than 90 fps to do this. None of this very high fps is pratical for every day use but it is a lot of fun. GD.

Hey everybody I just wanted to keep you all posted, I have been crazy busy lately but I did get to play with the board a little.
So far I have only been able to do bench testing using a power supply and spare solenoid I had laying around. Like Sergey already mentioned the board is 1-10 shot burst and full auto. The rpm settings are 300-1200 rpm. That is good and all but I have to say the round counter and digital control of the solenoid pulse width are outstanding. Now people will EASILY be able to tune their guns to their exact setups and liking. Not to mention finally we will know the answers to "how many shots can I get from this size bottle." -lol- At first I was a little intimidated by the need to modify the body of the gun for the button holes and the display but I made a router jig out a 3/4 inch thick piece of walnut and now I could probably install one of these boards accurately in under 20 minutes start to finish. I have not actually installed the button caps yet though, so far I have not come across anything I think is suitable to make them with. So for now I just just a small screwdriver to poke through the holes but anything could be used for the button really. Even a small dowel rod cut to size if need be. As for a display cover I have not actually cut a piece of anything to put there but any clear plastic will work. Honestly I thought it was going to be a pain in the ass but it really isn't that hard to do a clean job at all. That being said I would not suggest this install to someone who is not COMPLETELY comfortable taking the gun apart and putting it back together. I am bringing the board over to my engineer's house tomorrow and we are going to run some tests on it, if I am lucky I will be able to post some velocity numbers tomorrow. Until then wish me luck.

Dear Drozd/BB owners!
I can supply these boards directly from Russia at $130 each including shipment cost. It takes three weeks to ship the boards to the USA. Before you place an order please contact me to check the boards availability. I assemble them manually and then carefully check everything so it takes time before a board is ready for shipment to a customer. Yours, Sergey Pismensky. Izhevsk, Russia.

One more link to a picture of Drozd with the previous version of the PCB installed (without native support for the magazine motor and DC-DC converter). It's obsolete now.
Konstantin from Nizhny Novgorod (NN) got his board last September. Here is the link to his message with one more PCB photograph.

Hello Peter.
I sent three modules to Ray from Drozdmax.com and he's been getting aquainted with them for a week now. Let's wait for his opinion. I'm sure he'll like these new boards -- Russian airgunners love them. I guess Ray can even sell one of his boards to you. Yes, it takes some time and skills to install it. But it's not rocket science anyway. Anyone who decides to install it will have to drill three holes for the buttons caps, then fix those caps with some glue and flexible plastic film. It's a very simple task. This photo shows how it should look. It's also necessary to cut rectangular window in front of the display. THAT'S ALL!!! You can also place a piece of red plexiglass there if you want. All physical dimensions of the new PCB were kept as close to the original ones as possible to make the replacement procedure simple. I asked Russian airgunners to post their photographs in my thread in Russian forum, when I have more pictures there I'll give you more links.

Hello Sergey. The google traslation is terrible. I will reread later tonight. We need to see one or two examples with your translation of customers using this board. Even better sent a couple of boards out to the US or Canada for testing. Also important is how much cutting is need to install the board. More pictures with the board installed. GD.

Hello and thanks for your replies.
Here's the link to the post in Russian airgunners forum with the pictures of these new boards for those who can't see them in the previous post below. See also another message with the picture of Drozd modified with the new PCB. You can also read the whole thread in this Russian forum translated in Google. Please note that due to similar spelling of Russian words "board" and "payment/fee" ("plata" in Russian) Google often calls this PCB "payment" ![]() I haven't made the final decision yet on how to sell these boards in USA and Canada. I see two possible options -- drop shipment from Russia and establishing dealer relationship with an American company or individual. These boards proved to be reliable enough, at least I haven't received any complaints yet though I've been making and selling them since April of 2009. As for the voltage drop during the long burst, it's always a trade-off between the solenoid pulse duration and the energy consumption. This new PCB allowes for fine adjustment of these parameters according to the owner's taste and many other factors like battery voltage and it's internal resistance. I've received many messages since I posted this information so I'd like to ask anyone who has questions to contact me on Skype (sergey.pismensky) or by phone (+7-950-177-2500) 'cause it'll take too long to type the answers here or in e-mail messages. I'm located in Izhevsk, it's 700 miles to the east from Moscow and if you call in the morning (by your local time) it won't be too late here. I go to bed late so feel free to contact me even if it's late night in Russia. Thanks again for your feedback. Yours, Sergey [ Continued ] View Rest Of Post

Interesting item Sergey. I can't see the pictures, think it is because of the work computer blocking them.
What is the cost of the board to purchase? What type of payment do you accept? I am not holding my breath on the Hi-cap for the Drozd, I think it is vapor-ware.

Greetings and welcome. Simple amazing news. You need to show the board installed on the gun. Please talk more about testing. Can the gun be fired on full auto for long periods of time without hurting the board and with no fading at high voltage? This new board will revolutionize the Drozd/BB. This combined with the new Radical gasket will make it into a new level gun. I must say great work Sergey. The only thing missing is the long awaited drum magazine. There is a fellow here named Jim. C who is waiting for a supply of 125 mags. He has a working proto-type holding about 300 bbs..He has been waiting months for these mags.If you have a direct contact with Baikal maybe you could help. Again welcome and more details please. Green Dot/GD.

...with the step of 100 RPM.
The third button shows/sets the solenoid pulse duration. Available values are 3-15 mS with 1 mS step. When the current value is shown the display also shows "P" character (for "Pulse"). 15 boards like these have been tested in Russia and three more sent to USA for tests and experiments. I can supply these boards in small quantities rigth now and if it turns ot that the demand grows significantly I'll be able to produce them faster. If you have questions I'll be glad to answer them. Greetings to all Drozd owners!
ATTENTION! The latest version is described in this thread: http://bb.bbboy.net/straferbbmachinegunownersgroup-viewthread?forum=10&thread=2602&postnum=0&viewfullpost=1 Some information below may be not up-to-date. I'm a self-employed electronics engineer from Izhevsk, Russia and here is what I have for you: ![]() Here's another picture: ![]() It's an alternative printed circuit board (PCB) for Drozd. It's compatible with both, Blackbird and non-Blackbird versions. Main technical features: Power supply: 9-24 V (switch mode DC-DC converter is used preventing excessive heating inside Drozd and acheiving longer battery life) Available shooting modes: 1-10 bullets bursts or full auto mode Available RPM: 300, 400, 500, ... up to 1200 rounds per minute Solenoid pulse adjustnemt (digital): 3-15 mS with 1 mS step Buttons There are three buttons on the left side of the PCB. They control the board's settings. Once you change them, they are stored in the non-volatile memory and you won't have to change them again next time you turn the power on. The first button (the left one) controls shooting mode. If you press it once, the display will immediately show the current burst length. Available values are 1...10 and "---". The latter stands for "no limit" or "full auto". If you don't press any buttons within 3 seconds the display will automatically return to its default mode showing shots counter. If you press the same button again within that 3 seconds interval the next value will be applied. For example, when you press the left b [ Continued ] View Rest Of Post
