Its not 100% and WILL jam if the balls get smashed by the follower dropping on them. Not a probem with a load locker. I Remoil the speed loader and usually will only encounter a few "sticks" per 300 bbs. Never a barrell jam yet. Many a rodent have met their fates with such as I do find them sightly more accurate. YMMV
I still mostly shoot Daisy.

Radical,
Just wanted to throw my vote out agianst the lead shot. I'm glad they work for you, but my gun just jams like crazy, can't get through a single mag without a problem. Maybe it because it so new, maybe you just got lucky with your gun, but if others are thinking of trying this, know that there is at least one vote against. I notice the lead smashing and deforming before they even get to the top of the magazine. Thanks for the idea though Radical, it was worth a shot. Mitch in Florida

There is a very interesting product that I have used and whole heartedly endorce that might help.
It is called "gun juice" and is made my Microlon. I can tell you that this stuff really does work. I used it in a Mak 90 (7.62) years ago and to this day that barell is shooting like new after many super hot shooting sessions. I now have it in the bore of every gun I own. The trick for us is that we must have heat (and quite possibly pressure) during the application process. We could take the barell off, heat it in the oven and then do the treatment. For those of you who are interested: http://www.shooterready.com/gunjuice.html http://www.microlon.com/firearms.asp

You know that barrel premature extractication is a serious problem for us 24/7 itch satisfactionists. Aside from a new barrel, the only option for reduced wear and increase longjevity of the barrell is dependant on the round. Though copper or zinc coated bbs run smoother they also rapidly increase the wear of the suspect breech well housing. Alternating lead rounds can prolong the life of the barrell. High antimony "B" buck shot has worked saticfacctorilly with me. Some sticks, but none with the load locker.
I really dont know how to solve this effect nor allay the fears of those who will wear out their barrells. The passion to dump magazine after magazine will not change. So you ALL will eventually encounter these issues. Just a quick perspective on my shooting. Aside from the back yard dropping 2 yards from the weight of bbs Ive emptied on her, I had most honestly run 25,000 way plus rounds from one Drozd before issues withe barrel developed. No solutions here save a remanufacture barrell. Makes sense to me if I could get the appropriate barrell to cut thrice and make 3 new barrels to go.

Can speak only for Gamo's! Perfect little lead balls. They are so soft that they get smashed, mashed, gouged, and chewed up in the magazine due to the BB string pounding back downward each time the gas pin fires and shoves the "ready" BB into the breech battery position...then out the business end. They jam like crazy. I've never gotten more than three or four to shoot in a row.
Anybody else? (Oh, and, man, are they spendy.) Why don't you build your own indoor range with a soft backstop? I shoot indoors all the time during bad weather as do a lot of guys...no BB's go flying with a proper setup. I shoot through cardboard into carpet samples...works great. Others use curtains, layers of fiberboard, etc.

Hey guys, got mine on the way and am very excited.
I have a neat indoor range set up but it needs lead or it will fly all over the place. Has anyone tried the lead balls and what kind of results did you get? are any brands better than others? thanks, Mitch
