snake run did get back to me today, they said there might be one in stock.

i wouldnt mind getting a second one. maybe ill watch that auction.

off topic: is the daisy 880 a good cheap powerfull rifle?

Yeah, that was a topic about a year back. We called EAA and it does NOT apply to the Drozd. They will continue to handle that model. Getting them out of the Baikal plant is the problem. They are only doing runs of maybe twice a year now and not nearly enough since they must supply the eager trigger fingers of the entire world wanting, itching to get their hands on a full auto delight.

it seems that a few places are choosing to not handle the item due to poor avalibilty.

thinking my soleniod was bad , i looked for parts on EEA website and found this

1) Baikal:
On November 6, 2004 we let the cat out of the bag, so to speak. All of the guns we had been importing from Baikal of Russia (IZH models), will now be sold under the Spartan by Remington” name brand. We will continue to perform warranty work on the Baikal line. Spartan by Remington guns will be at a slightly higher price than similar EAA models, so buying an EAA model is a good investment since the price will only increase. If you are a dealer, stock up on all the EAA Baikal guns you can find and enjoy the profit. The change to Spartan by Remington was a positive change for the Baikal line and fully supported by EAA Corp. The Baikal plant in Russia will now be working with one of the oldest and largest names in the USA firearms business and we are proud to have had a part in this historic event.

We will keep all our IZH / Baikal models on the website for the time being while inventories are being sold off.

Our good old BATF is having a good time with rereading and redefining laws this year. We've seen our last import kit guns to come from outside of the US, the barrells being the specific targets.

Now as far as the Drozd, its not classified as a firearm so wouldnt fall under their jurisdiction. It would have to be the
bureau of trade and commerce or some governmental regulatory department. I dont know.

I do know that with the popularity and demand exceeding production, you would have this slow down in importation.

Someone ought to get a hod of ADF and find out just what the situation is over there. It might alay some of our angsts.

No, no! Not yet, guys. The same deal is still on. I just talked with Scott and he says they still have guns for some time yet.
