Think I have it figured out...

Visited the place I bought the Drozd and discovered that the CO2 cylinders I was using (name brand, Crosman Copperhead) don't fit as well as the one they handed me. In fact, the one they handed me fit like a charm! Guess what~they were Crosman as well, only made in Hungary!..??? The cylinders themselves taper to a finer point, allowing them to enter the "female" aperture at a more severe angle. This gives them more clearance above that lever. This is odd... The cylinders themselves (the better, Hungarian ones) were Copperheads as well, in a 40 qty. box and had a brighter/polished/plated finish. The printing on the cylinder was clean, unlike the dull finish and blurred printing on my Copperheads~bought as a 25 pack.... These fit PERFECT...now i'm on the hunt for them. Thanks for the replies though~dig this forum, DROZDS rule! PS~2 diet Pepsi cans fell to the flurry of BBS this afternoon!

Re: CO2 loading problem

Have you checked the CO2 seating lever? One of my magazines had a problem with the lever not swinging fully over, to the open/load cylinder position. I think that it had a burr that was hanging it up. With a bit of extra force, I got it freed up to lever back far enough to easily load the CO2 cartridge. Check it against the one that works good. Good Luck.

CO2 loading problem

Hello everyone, i'm new to the forum~picked-up my first DROZD a few weeks ago. (I'm in Canada, land of the all-black DROZD) The first few cylinders of CO2 I put through the gun seemed VERY difficult to get seated in place. I thought this might be the case for all DROZDs. This past weekend, I picked-up and extra magazine and it works flawlessly. The "push" rod below the cylinder on the first mag does not seem to drop far enough, and the "nipple" on the CO2 cylinder seems too positive a fit. IZH says they'll replace the magazine~have any of you had this issue? I've been watching this forum to see if anyone starts manufacturing longer/better replacement barrels. Is the wear on the barrel due to poor quality metal? I've built compressor-fed BB machineguns with barrels from Crosman 760 Repeaters that seem to last forever. Can a barrel from one of these guns be made to fit, or might the problem be the same? Hoping some of you veteran DROZD fans might have some ideas..Thanks!
