question about vv2
we are seriously looking into upgrading our board to vv2.

we have a few questions.

1. can we keep our same format i.e. background/fonts?

2. do we loose all our posts/threads?

3. do all our smilies transfer over too?

4. what all is involved in upgrading once you pay the $$?

Re: question about vv2
v2 is not hosted here, so you can't transfer most of those. You won't loose your members, posts and threads (because you can convert them to bbv2), but I think you will lost everything else.

I don't think background/fonts convert over with the threads & posts, but you can edit background, fonts, etc in the Edit Board template screen & the v2 equivalent of v1's " Easy Customization" :smile:

Nope :smile: Once you have your v2 board set up, you can simply click on the " Convert to v2" link in your old Admin Center, which will give you a .sql file. All you need to do then is to upload that .sql file to your v2 board, and you have all your forums, users & threads. :smile:

Yep :smile:

Once you've paid for a V2 License, you'll need to find a webhost to host your board :smile: For hosting, I recommend www.100megswebhosting.com . They use the same datacenter as our bbv2.com servers. :smile:

bbBoard v2 requires a server with:

Perl 5.x
CGI.pm and LWP::Simple for installation.
A supported Database Backend (mySQL, postgreSQL, Sprite etc).
