Missing Posts
Hi! Just FYI, for about the past week we have had several posts go missing. A member (or myself) starts a new thread and hits "submit", everything seems to submit just fine, everything looks normal, however, when you actually go to the forum, it is not there. If you do a search, the post is there, and it shows it's right where it's supposed to be, you can even reply to it. But... it's still not there. This has happened to myself (admin) as well as many other members.

I have also lost posts in the same manner when moving them. Quite recently I moved two threads at the same time, one appeared in the new forum, the other did not. But, it's "there" if I search for it!

This has happened before, I posted about it:

http://bb.bbboy.net/support-viewthread?forum=1&thread=4007&postnum=0&highlight=

http://bb.bbboy.net/support-viewthread?forum=1&thread=5210&postnum=0&highlight=

http://bb.bbboy.net/support-viewthread?forum=1&thread=5220&postnum=0&highlight=

This isn't a continuous problem. Happens for about a week or so and then goes away.

Re: Missing Posts
Hi dianimal

Could you post a link to an example thread?

Re: Missing Posts
Sure!

Here's a link to a thread that got "lost" when I moved it from one forum (General Stepfamily Discussion) to another forum (Reference).

http://azure.bbboy.net/stepmomsupport-viewthread?forum=61&thread=1&postnum=0&highlight=phone%20list

I found the "lost" thread doing a search, I was able to view it as if it had never dissapeared. So, I tried to move it back to "General", keeping a copy in "Reference".... now there's two lost threads.

Here's a link to a thread that a member tried to start, but it never showed up, found on search though.

http://azure.bbboy.net/stepmomsupport-viewthread?forum=6&thread=473&postnum=0&highlight=

The member even tried replying to it after she found it in a search, the replies look just fine, but it's still "not there."

Here's another one in a different forum.

http://azure.bbboy.net/stepmomsupport-viewthread?forum=34&thread=204&postnum=0&highlight=

The first post "Disappeared" so the member did a second post under the same "subject" a few hours later. If you do a search, both threads show up.

If it helps I can post more links, this has happened quite a bit the past week.

Re: Missing Posts
Hi dianimal

When she trys to make a post, does the post appear, even though she gets an Internal Server Error message?

Re: Missing Posts
I do not get any kind of error message. None whatsoever.

When you hit "Submit" on the post, everything appears as normal. Completely normal. After hitting "Submit", the next screen is a copy of your thread and it all looks fine, it looks as if it posted in the correct forum. However, the thread is simply not there. The ONLY way to find it is by doing a "Search", it shows up under a search as if it is all normal. But, the post/thread is simply not there.

I had it happen to me again last night. This thread appeared to post correctly. But this morning, when I went to check for replies, it wasn't there. I reposted the same basic thread this morning and it's fine, it's there, all is good. When I performed a search it shows that there are two posts with the same title int he same forum. But, there's not, the one from last night is not there.

It happens sporadially, sometimes things post just fine, sometimes they do not.
