BB Tutorials

We've just finished writing up the tutorials/manuals/readmes/whatever you want to call them for BbBoard. They should serve as a very good referance point, or an introduction to our system if you're new here. They're available at http://bb.bbboy.net/man/ . Or just choose one from below:

We'll be adding to them all the time, and some How-To's are coming up. If you have any special requests for a How-To, just let us know... :smile:

Yes very informative, I didn't know that CSS is not recommended for the control of the whole board...I thought it was either CSS or EC. And that is why I liked CSS better, but after going through what I've had to go through this week with it, I guess EC deserves a second look. :ohwell:

I know it does borders whereas the CSS wasn't able to do what you wanted. But you know it's your board and if you want to use CSS Lady Sparrow you go for it! :wink:

But as Chris add more options to the EC it definitely will be easier to use for everyone. I use it on my Cyber-Soup board with each forum looking pretty different and all through Easy Customization. :smile:

Well I tried EC again using the tutorial, it was definately easier to understand having that so I didn't have to ask question after question to Chris...but the font was really small...not sure why. So I put it back on css my board is messed up today anyway, nothing is going right. Not sure why. Tomorrow when Chris is back, I'll try EC again and see if I can't figure out why the font is so small. It definately was easier to understand EC with the tutorial, definately. :smile:

Well as the scope of EC evolves and the more things you can change and customize with it get bigger-we'll have to add to that tutorial for sure-just did a big FAQ update too so if you haven't seen them in a while you'll probably enjoy checking the admin ones out at least. :wink:

But we're aimming to keep it easy and simple-so hopefully that came across in the Tutorial. :smile:

Just adding my congrats on superb tutorials!

You guys rock!

The way you've incorporated classes throughout the boards makes ****** look like a beginner - I just love the way I can control everything on my board via the board template.

You probably already know this, but Aimoo has NO classes - so their boards load very slow, with all that code in there.

Although it's not recommended for full control of your board (there's just some things CSS can't do), you can still do it. In fact, our older boards on here knew nothing but CSS, so it's probably best to stick with what you know, unless you're doing a re-design. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.... :smile:

I think so too fluffysue and that is why BbBoy and I worked really hard getting them finished and making them comprehensive enough to help people get used to using our service.

I am glad to have finished work just about on the Newsletter How To addition to the Tutorial section and I hope everyone find this useful and helpful in getting a Board Newsletter started. We are asking for
feedback and suggestions for future additions to the Tutorial section so if you have any idea of what you would like to so more on just ask!

The new release of V1.3 I think will bring smiles to all board owners' faces tonight and as they discover the fun that awaits them with the Custom Fields Feature.

I think you might have been trying to view this thread when it was moved to a storage area and I was trying to trim something off it-you can see everything in the Support forums ok right?

If so I think it was just a fluke that resulted from my moving this topic and trying to trim a 'test' post from it...Nothing to worry about. :smile:

I JUST joined about 15 minutes ago.
I really like how you have the tutorals available.
I am waiting on admission for a board.

I just left Delphi Forums(GOOD RIDDANCE TO THEM!)
and still have my sanity intact.
I have been running 2 forums there for the past 2 years and let me just say'I am a survivor'.

I have a LOT of reading here to do,and I just wanted to say a big hello to you all.

It's nice to see there are some communities online who are organized,friendly,and proud.
