Ok Noah, I'd gladly go check it out, but I need the URL. In a topic like this you have always got to include the URL (That is why we have that custom field to encourage people to post them) so we can look at it-this helps you get a answer to the problem faster. :wink: Like right now I might have already had a chance to look at it and have a reply of more use. :smile:

When I was last there the other night it was trying to show the signatures you could see the --- divider between post and signature, but the signature data was not displaying. Have you removed the scripts and redone the CSS?

Re: sig question ( 17:52:15 SunJul 21 2002 )

I still think it is something with the CSS in there. There are spaces where there shouldn't be and then no periods where they need to be. I don't see any dividers in the posts anymore either. :ohwell:

I don't know what to tell you except to remove the CSS and start over on that. This is what I think is wrong look at the spaces between } and the line of code it should be part of:

Code:

input, textarea { border-color: #FFDEAD; border: 2px;}
input, textarea, select {
background:#191970;
border-top:#191970 solid thin;
border-bottom:#191970 solid thin;
border-right:#191970 solid thin;
border-left:#191970 solid thin;
font-family: verdana, helvetica, sans-serif;
color: #191970;
}

SELECT { Color: white; background-color: #191970;
Font-Family: Verdana; Font-Size: 12pt }

.inputbutton {
font-size: 120%;
font-family: verdana, helvetica, sans-serif;
color: #ffffff;
background: #191970
}
table.forumlisttable {background: #191970;}

Just looking at the syntax there shows me a lot of mistakes. You can see earlier in this thread what CSS is supposed to look like. I don't even want to try correcting this stuff since I am not a CSS expert, but I know it is not correct syntax. Check here for CSS tutorials: http://www.w3schools.com/css/

This kind of thing is not something that we should be doing in the tech support area-I know there is nothing wrong with signatures on the azure server as I stated earlier because they are working on new azure boards. Which can only mean there is something else that someone changed on your board that is preventing signatures from appearing. If you would like to test it out go here:

http://azure.bbboy.net/crocodilehunterfanboard

If you are not seeing your newer signitures avaible on my new azure board then something IS wrong and we might be able to find something on our end that needs looked at-but if there is something server specific on our end it would also happen on my azure board too. If it isn't then its something specific to your new board that someone has done.

Let me know what you find out after trying to use your sigs on my azure board ok? Because if there is something going on it would not be on one board only. I'm still testing on this and I will post what I find out later. :smile:

I just made a new signature and was able to use it just fine after the 3 minute data transfer frmo azure to bb updated. Here is a link to the post with my test sig:

Pamster....I don't know how to be more clear about this but I will try...

Even if there are problems with the CSS and whatnot...THIS problem existed from the moment the board was created on your server.

When the board was first activated...I logged onto it and made an initial post (the background was still neon green and coral at this point...I had not set ANYTHING)...my sigs did not work at all.

This is a problem other than the CSS or the right click code...this problem has existed since the moment the board became active...perhaps BBBoy could look at it if you are all out of ideas.

Thanks for the continued patience and help!

Re: sig question ( 19:55:14 SunJul 21 2002 )

I understood you the first time Noah, just have a hard time believing that the signatures never worked-that's all. I have two boards on azure aand haven't had one issue with signatures so maybe Monday when BbBoy is on a full day he can go by your board since obviously something is going on-might be only board specific-who knows?

I'm sorry that you're still unable to use signatures-but when I was there earlier and testing I did see the dividers --- in my post but the signature did not appear-that itself may be of aid to BbBoy when he stops by to check it out of where to start looking for a problem.

So check back tomorrow to see if he found anything-I'm sure if he does and finds something wrong to fix the sigs will start appearing-either way someone, he or I will post here tomorrow to let you know what he found out. :smile: Thanks for at least trying to see if it was those scripts & CSS. :smile:

Haven't read all of the thread so sorry if these have already been mentioned. I don't have the time right now to check out your board in detail, sorry. You might want to try:

1) Going to your Edit Sig screen in your User CP. For any sigs which aren't showing up on your azure board, just hit "Save Changes" underneath it. That will make it re-transfer to azure. Remember to wait at least 3 minutes after doing so for them to be transferred again.

2) Check that you don't have "Max sig length" set to 0 or blank in your Edit Board Settings.

3) Check that you have sigs enabled in the forum.

4) check that your CSS hasen't set the sig class to invisible, or tiny width/height or something.

Re: sig question ( 17:24:50 MonJul 22 2002 )

Just tested it out and my signature showed fine. I think you might just need to wait for the 3 minute data transfer to update. If you just made your aignatures they will not be in the system for 3 minutes-try again-I checked and they are enabled in the top forum and when you add new forums the default is set to have sigs on.

Let me know if that isn't what the trouble was-the 3 minute delay might be what it was Crewfreak3. :smile:

Re: sig question ( 01:34:05 TueJul 23 2002 )

Help! We decided to create a separate i.d. for the administrators to use for certain things, such as posting rules and announcements. That worked fine, but I can't get the signature working for this id. I thought at first it was forum-related, but when I switched to my regular id in that forum, the Signature option shows up.

I went to the Admin Center and tried re-enabling the sig for Soundboard Administrators with my regular identity, but still no luck. Any ideas? What's really annoying, is that it will work over here!

Thanks for the help in advance!
