Need Help Banning ( 07:44:18 FriAug 2 2002 ) Interact Reply Quote Report To Mod Last Posts Ignore User Global Ignore Whisper Board Plan: IE5 Hey guys, I have a member by the name of "burning190E" who is causing much disturbance to my forum. I tried to ban him with the admin function, but it doesnt work. His name is not on my "edit users" list so I have to type it in. Plus, I would like to ban his IP, because he thretend to make more usernames and harass my forum. Could you ban him forever? Or allow me to ban him? By "not working" I mean that I user name banned burning190E and he is continuing to post. I then went to "Forum Specific Ban" and selected all folders. By his user name in the admin User List his name is followed by "(banned)." He just wont stop! He still posts and he doesnt even know he is banned, so I know he is not trying to decieve the bbboy servers or anything. Why isn't my ban power working?! I need to get rid of this user ASAP. I also tried IP ban, but he uses AOL, so his IP changes everytime he dials up. Please ban "burning190E" or enable my abilities to ban him. I am running around deleting his stupid posts like "I am naked" all the time. Thanks Staff, You GUYS/GIRLS ROCK!

Mabye he has to log out after being banned before it will work. So did you log out of his account? When he comes back and has to "log in" before trying to post, will he be banned then? Have a link to a post he's made recently?

Even though I had banned this girl she was still posting causing chaos! And she was listed as banned on the edit user screen. I dont know what happened but after like 2 hours she stopped posting! I had to engage MBA for a few days to lock the boards. Now I just make the whole board private access expect the newbie forum! Once I screen who they are I let them into other forums!

I've just logged in (on this board) as the user you banned. Then I loaded a page on your board, and I got the "you are banned" message. Therte no way he can be viewing your board, without using a different username (even very very very slightly - an extra space, one single letter upper/lower case, etc), or posting as a guest..... Have you tried banning his IP? That way, you'd ban him no matter what username he's using, and even when he posts as a guest.
