I couldn't find the answer to this anywhere, so thought I'd ask:

Can you enable HTML in posts? I tried doing a simple test but it just showed the tags, and wouldn't interpret them.

e.g. <font color=red>This is red text</font>

Thanks in advance.

The reason I want it is so I can post tables.

Admins/mods can use the [ html] (remove the space) tag to use HTML in posts. Just include it somewhere in the post, and any HTML in there will be interpreted instead of shown.

Just one more question on this: what specific powers would a mod need in order to be able to use html in a post?

I would like some of my users to be able to post with html but I realise this isn't possible.

So I was thinking I might make some of them mods if I can just limit their powers a bit.

Welcome to Best Boards bridgeaddict!

Yup-Admins and mods can use HTML and you can look here:

Edit Users-Assign Mods

For specifics on powers you have the option of giving mods. If you need anything else just let me or BbBoy know.

Thanks Pamster. Yes, I've read that, but what I need to know is which specific power I need to give, that will allow that mod to use html in a post.

For instance, is it "Delete threads" or "Stick/Unstick" or "Mark Important" etc.

Or perhaps I don't need to give them any specific powers other than "just being a mod"?

It does say you can choose "none" and that would be best for me. Guess I'll just try that and see.

I'll be back if that doesn't work. Thanks again!

Hmm, unfortunately that didn't work - mod could not post html.

Obviously I need to assign some specific power, but I need to know which one.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Ah, yup, mods should be able to use HTML with no options there at all. Looks like it was a bug causing only admins to be able to do it - should be good now.

You guy(s) are phenomenal!

Thanks so much - it's just perfect for what I want, as I can just give (powerless!!) mod powers to anyone who wants to use html. No risk to security either.

 Glad to see you are enjoying what Best Boards has to offer message board owners. I know it takes a little getting used to, but once you get the hang of using it I bet you'll really enjoy the amount of control you'll have over everything on your board.
