New Message ( 14:28:50 WedMar 27 2002 )

Members of my board asked me that is there any indication in the front page telling them there are new messages in a forum. I note that there is only a "read" image which show whether there is still unread message in a forum. Is there any image/Admin setting that can show which forum has new post?

Actually, that "read" image is an indicator as to when a forum has new posts. It'll only be there when the forum has new posts. If the forum doesn't have new posts, then it won't show.

Thank you. Is it means that the "read" icon indicate there is still some new posts in the forum that you has not read?

Is it possible to show through some icon that "There are some new posts in this forum since you last visit the forum"? Sometimes it is possible that the user did not read all the posts in a forum but eager to know is the forum has new post since his last visit.

The new icon from the main page shows that there are new posts since the last time you marked the forum read by clicking the "Mark forum read" link nearing the top of the forum. A forum automatically marks itself read when you have read everything in it.
