Double posting threads ( 02:09:12 SunJun 8 2003 )

I have a member who on a couple occasions has had his posted messages double posted when he is certain he only clicked the post button once. While I don't expect that there is any real good answer to provide as to why this may have happened I wanted to check with the experts.

What do you think???

Hi Maine Patriot,

Can you link to an example where they think they only hit the reply/submit button once? Also-what browser are they using?

It's possible they double posted if they happened to hit on a "server busy" message - on occasion the post goes through in spite of that message being displayed.

Re: Double posting threads ( 23:42:13 SunJun 8 2003 )

It's happened to me, when my computer was acting up, since I'm on dial up, my ISP can't handle the load I'm trying to do all at once and the computer acts like it's stuck, then I try and post it again and realize it's already posted! It has freaked me out a couple of times, when I know that I have hit the reply button only once and it doesn't "take" so to speak, right away, so I hit it again, and then there are two posts! Makes me so mad! LOL!
