Private community showing on yahoo, google, AOL, etc... ( 22:23:54 FriJul 11 2003 )

Somehow, recently, our VERY private community is now available for search on various search engines.

We'd VERY much like to UNDO that as we are private for a reason. Any ideas how to make us unsearchable on search engines again?

Or any idea how we became searchable?

Hi supersunshine,

I just looked at your settings and your board is not 'private' since you do not have the MBA on nor do you have guest viewing disabled in the Posting restrictions. I am not going to go through all your forums, but this one on top shows clearly that it is open to guests and googlebots & any search engine spiders are free to 'cache pages' there. Some search engines will have a form you can use to remove pages from their engines, but other then doing that there isn't anything you can do except to change those posting restrictions in ALL forums you want to be private.
