Help Logging In ( 03:02:45 FriJan 2 2004 )

I have tried every suggestion under the sun, and read everything I can find on here about log-in problems, but I still cannot log onto my board, even though it says I have logged on successfully., Cookies are enabled (even when I try "cookieless login", it still doesn't work). I have even deleted my cookies and started over.

One thing I don't understand and maybe this is my problem, what does this mean exactly: "please check the date and time on your computer because that will prevent you from logging in properly". I am in the Central Time Zone and the time and date on my computer are accurate according ot that.

to check the time and date on your computer double click the time which is located in the bottom right hand cornor of the screen. a little window will pop up. Make sure the date and time are correct. This will help to make sure you can log in.

I don't understand the date and time thing either. If I live in Wisconsin, and the date is Jan. 1st and the time is 10:30 PM and that is what my computer says, then shouldn't I be able to log in?

you are logged in here , and have logged in under both names, see how your name is blue. :smile:

Are you having a problem logging in on another board?

The date and time on my computer are accurate for the Central Standard time zone. I can go to other boards and click the reply or new thread button and I am allowed to post.

If I go to ChristianWomenconnected and try to post anything, it continually asks me to log in. I do. It gives me a "Logged In" message, but won't let me do anything. Only on this one board.

Help.

Actually, I was wrong. WIth this I.D. : Compos_Mentis I cannot log in to any other forums. With my other one, I can log into ALL forums EXCEPT ChristianWomenConnected.

But regardless of which one I use, I cannot get into ChristianWomenConnected.

Let me ask a couple of quick questions....it may help an admin figure this out faster when they come on.

Have you ever been able to log into the board and post at all?

Also, what web browser are you using....IE, Netscape, Opera, etc...?

Btw, it's more of an issue with your computer's calendar that can cause a problem. I was checking a date once on my calendar and left it on the wrong month without realizing it and couldn't log in. Once I set it back right, I logged in with no problem. Doesn't sound like that's related to your problem. :smile:

I use IE version 6.0 with Windows XP.

I just joined for the first time tonight. I registered at the ChristianWOmenConnect board. I cannot log in there. The pop-up box comes up, I type in my username and password, it says "Logged In. Please wait..." and then it returns me to the previous screen I was at, and says I "you must be registered or logged in". This contunes. I tried registering with another name. Same result. I cannot log in and it goes through the same process.

However, I can log in to any other board and post with either user name. Only on this one board is there a problem.

I have done the following:
1) Deleted all cookies, and started over trying to log in with a fresh cache.
2) Double checked to ensure cookies are on and java is enabled.
3). Double checked date and time on my computer. I also just checked my calendar at the Control Panel. Jan. 1st 2004, 11:33 PM CST. It is correct.
4) Restarted my computer.
5) Tried logging in by checking the "cookieless" box. Same result.

DOn't know what else to do? Thanks for the help....

I am the Admin. of Christian Women Connected.
One of my Moderators was expriencing this same "log in problem" last week and posted here in the supprt forum about it. Somehow the problem resolved itself.

Thanks for posting that and sorry you're having such a time. This does definitely sound like something an Admin will have to check out.

Here is the only other thing I know to ask you to check. I thought I saw your nickname listed as the newest member while I was there, so if you've not posted yet, I'm guessing that the board admin there has dynamic registration enabled. Could you ask them to go into their Edit Board Settings and if dynamic registration is enabled...to disable that. Then try creating another username and see if you're able to login then.

Just to add a bit of info to this for the admins.....Froggy and I both went to the board and were able to post just fine. However I did notice that even though I don't have an avatar enabled in my User CP and no mood defined, it inserted the last ones I did have. Just happened on Gold.

I just logged out and created a new account from our board and then waited for the password to arrive and came back to the board and then tried to log in, I got a "username does not exist" for about 2 minutes and then I tired again and it logged me in and I posted in "The Welcome Wagon" forum with no problems.
I searched our board logs and it does show that she was logged in and veiwed the mainpage but the next entry for the IP addie was as a guest as were the rest of them since.
We checked under the banned IP just to be sure we didnt have the range banned and it isnt.
I dont know how to disable the "Dynamic Registration"
Sue will have to do that if it is causing a problem.

I remember after we were moved to the gold server we couldnt log in from the board we just got kicked back to the bbboard main page (or logged in from another board in our bbring and then followed the ring link back to the board) but that was everyone that it was happening to and its been fixed for awhile now.
I dont know what cookieless log on is?
But you do need to have cookies enabled to log on to the board because the page reloads after the logging in text box closes and if you dont have cookies enabled it will log you right back out again.

And another thing I just noticed the Valentines day sig I put in earlier wont show up as an option on the board but it does here? Weird :tongue:

I am the mod. that I_Surrender_All was talking about. I found the log in window UNDER the main one. It popped under instead of popping up. I worked just fine once I found it.

I have disasbled dynamic registration and auto member on dynamic registration. So if this would be the problem, then Compos_Mentis, you could create a new username and try again.

It's me, Compos_Mentis.

I tried to log in this morning and couldn't. I created a new username, and got a "registration successful" message, but never received an e-mail with a password. :sad:

I even tried logging in on my husband's computer. No luck. :sad:

Compos_Mentis here under my new username.

I created a new username and the exact same thing happens. I can log in, but when I try and post it tells me "You must be registered and logged in to perform this function." Again, I tried on both my computer and my husband's computer, but the same thing happens regardless of which computer I am on.

However, I can go to any other board with either username and post. Just not on ChristianWomenConnected.....

I think they may have Member Screening enabled. Do they have an email address posted that you can contact the board administration?

I think there is something on our end needing fixed. Thank you all for your patience in reporting this trouble to us. I am letting BbBoy know something isn't right because I logged in as Compos_Mentis and one other member and neither would show up as logged in on two gold boards. :smile:

Thank you Pamster, we do not have memberscreening on and I too logged in as Corpas_Mentis and it sayed I was logged in, then it logged me out right away.
