I've run a board for over 2 years and I love Best Boards! But one thing constantly frustrates me, that people have such a hard time getting access.
I have a private board so they must register with Best Boards and then apply for access by posting on my board.
Now I know from experience that so many people make this harder than it is, problems with their mail security, typing username/password incorrectly. But I also know that it's sometimes NOT their fault.
I recently tried to sign up under a new name and received the Best Boards mail immediately. Great, I was impressed. But after 3 days I am still told that my username does not exist. If I was a visitor I would probably give up out of frustration. I do tell the ones that manage to contact me that it sometimes seems to take about 48hrs for the details to 'kick in'. But it has been even longer for me.
What I don't understand is, if the details are generated so quickly, why are they not instantly recognised by the system. And if it takes a little while, how long?
Sorry to go on. But I have over 200 members and have had another 300 pass through. I know for a fact I've lost possible members because the process is so frustrating.
If I can at least tell everyone for certain, 'It takes X number of days before you can log in', then it saves a lot of problems. Board URL
