Firefox and background issues ( 14:27:14 SunOct 15 2006 )

Hi. I tried to post this question on the customization forum, but it says I need a higher authority to start a new thread.

This issue has come up with some new posters who use Firefox. The backgrounds for my foums are gifs or jpegs, with alternating colors for posted replies in threads. But in Firefox, although the forum background showing the topics is a solid color, when you click into a thread, there are no alternating colors. The background of the forum shows behind the posts, and it is a little distracting to try to read them.

I'd rather not set the backgrounds to a solid color instead of a picture if I don't have to. Is there a workaround for Firefox in the settings?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

I am looking at it in FireFox and don't understand what it is you need help with if it's not setting a background color. You can do that in the easy customization screen, but there are no browser specific codes you can add to do that.

You can do it in the CSS as well I believe, which you would have to do if you wanted to have some kind of a reply `Alternate Thread BG Color #1' & 'Alternate Thread BG Color #2' are what you need to have in if you want to make things easier to read ombroswellisdoomed.

If this isn't what you're talking about can you explain a bit more in depth about what you want to have help with? It' sounds to me like you know that already, (the above about alt thread BG input in the Easy Customization) and if so if you donn't want to put a color there if you don't have to, so that is all that can be, either the background shows through everything or the text is laid on top of a colored background.

If you want to add a hex in there those alternating thread reply backgrounds, but if you don't I don't know what else to tell you. I think it was nice because the background was somewhat muted. I'm sorry for not understanding if I didn't quite get the understanding of what you want help doing.

Argh, sorry if my explanation is confusing.

I do have the Alternate Thread BG Color #1' & 'Alternate Thread BG Color #2' set in EZ Customization and the alternate thread colors show in IE, but not in Firefox. For example, on the Cortex Refugees forum, the starry background is showing through when viewing posts in Firefox, but in IE, the replies in threads alternate between grey and dark blue. I would like the colors I set for alternate threads (blue and gray) to be the background for the posts in Firefox as well.

I don't know what would be involved on getting that to happen unfortunately ombroswellisdoomed. If there is CSS conflicts or something I don't know what we could do to make it work in FFox. I definitely did not see a BG color there on FFox, but I didn't look in IE. I wish I could help but I don't know where to even begin to look for new codes to add or if it's even in the CSS that the conflict arose in.

I like your Kermit Icon, very cute.
