I think you would be better off trying to activate the webspace that you most likely already pay for monthly that is included in your ISP monthly charges. Most ISP's give between 5-15 megs of hotlinkable webspace that you can easily activate and use without any problem.
I know Geocities stopped allowing hotlinking last year and I doubt they started allowing it again so I would definitely call your ISP and inquire-if it's like cable or dsl you would STILL potentially have this 'complimentary webspace' included in your monthly fees.
I can tell you from experience that not even one tenth of people even call to activate their webspace and it is something most folks don't even consider when they start composing web pages. Give it a try Diamond.

FTP Planet and read over the information there to get familiarized with using these
