2 questions ( 18:45:08 WedJun 12 2002 )

Heyas folks.

I wonder how the bbremote function works. I host a domain with webspace. Is it possible to operate the board from there? And if so could you pls explain how?

Also I noticed some ppl changed the checkboxes and replaced them with gifs. Where can I set those?

Thanx already,
greetz DazL

You basically just upload the script to your web space. :smile: There's (limited) instructions in the zip file download. But, your HTTP/1.1 users wouldn't get the mod_gzip speed unless you installed it on your own server, as it only supports HTTP/1.0 :smile:

Actually I think that you're meaning the "unread" images. As a mod/admin, you see checkboxes on the left, and then the unread image, if it's not read. :smile: At boards where you're not a mod/admin, you won't see the checkboxes, as they're for mod actions.

Have a look at the readme.txt file in the zip, it'll tell you how to configure it :smile: You should do that before uploading it really. You can set your BbRemote pass in your admin center. :smile: And when you've uploaded it, chmod it to 0755 if possible.

Re: 2 questions ( 19:24:01 ThuJun 13 2002 )

mmm,

I get this error ;

"Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@dazl-pro.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log."

If not modded 0755 I get

"CGI Wrapper Error: Script is not executable. Issue chmod 755 /nfs/cust/8/68/05/50868/web/forum/BbBoard.cgi
Error: Bad file number (9)"

Any ideas?

mmm , Im stuck atm. But no hurry. Cgi file is at ;

http://dazl-pro.com/cgi-bin/BbBoard.cgi

I uploaded in ascii and chaned first lines to;

#!/usr/bin/perl

my $BoardID = 'DazL';
my $pass = '*****************';
my $base = 'http://dazl-pro.com/cgi-bin';

If these settings are right maybe I should try and contact domainhost. They do support cgi hosting, but im not sure if I did everything right.

Do you have access to your error log? That would tell us what's wrong. :smile: Your host might not have one of the needed modules.
