When I reply to posts, my reply never appears. Sometimes I have to re-enter it honestly 5 times before it shows up in the thread????

It has happened to other members as well.

We need actual links to have something to check out Francescasmom. Also are you using the Quick Reply box or actually using the Add Reply screen? If there are others that this is happening to can you link us to a thread where you've discussed it? That way I can see if anyone has someone on their ignore list, which can make it seem like posts disappeared and should be there and aren't. :smile:

I use either AOL or Netscape, I am not sure what the other ladies use. I really do not think its the browser, because I use to be on another board and it never happened. ?????

And it isnt happening when I reply here either.

So far today, it has been happening on absolutely every post. I have to renter my post 3-4 times before it actually posts in the forum.

Could this be a flood control issue? This exact thing has happend to me before and I assumed that's what it was. I have a tendancy to respond fairly quickly to certain threads and if I do it back to back I run into this depending on the flood control settings of an individuals board.

Not meaning to barge into this thread of course, but since the board is on the same server as mine I kinda watch the threads that might apply to my own board.

I just viewed my flood control and it was at 60 (I really do not know what this means) anyway, it said to leave blank to disable to I disabled it. I hope thats it! Thanks RogueAngel

That could be the trouble RogueAngel. Thank you for speaking up about that. I didn't even consider that it might be flood control. :wink:

After disabling the flood control is it still happening Francescasmom? If so then you can re-enable it and give yourself and other trusted members [FI] in Edit Users, which means Flood Control Immunity. That might help. :smile:

From the Bb Administration manual:

However, flooding isn't really a big problem, as there is no limit to the number of threads you can have in a forum, so even if a malicious user floods, all threads will still be there, and the flooded ones easily deleted. Flood control works on both registered and unregistered users. Setting to 0 disables flood control. It's recommended to set this option to 60-120 seconds.

# Flood Control (Replies) - As above, but for replies to threads. It's recommended to set this to 20-40 seconds.
