Blossom I do hope Becky doesn't clot up. Tell her I said hello, k?

Yesterday morning just before I went out to milk, I discovered we had no water. So while Jim went and checked the water pump I went out to milk, feed, and water... Uhuh! Apparently the wether was standing behind the water faucet and the buck decided to wallop him good. I can imagine his surprise when he was met with a large stream of water in his face! He broke the faucet off at the elbow... *sigh* what a mess. The boys pen was flooded. So I thought they would have to stay outdoors until it drains and I could get new bedding in there. I had thought the draining would take a couple of days. However, Jim mucked out the stall, I put new bedding down, and I had the goats back in the barn that night. What a way to start the day! Besides that we have renters for the weekend, which are hunters, which will needed water... Now I have a new faucet to use which is shorter and not as likely to get broke.

Today is a fairly lazy day. I am going to work on hairsticks and a book press. I have a custom order for both. It feels good to be working with wood again. I am sure it will be a frequent thing from now on...

Mother called this morning. Her blood pressure is up and she was thinking she wants to give the mobile to the landlord and pay us back for the cost of it. WHAT!! Ok, I didn't go off on her, really I didn't. I promised I would run the suggestion by Jim and see what he says. And to give her some leeway, the problems she is having is because she worries to much and she has a very controlling nature (I didn't tell her that last part). I told her I don't mind her living with me, but I am not going to give up her mobile, move her back over here and in a few months have to find a new place for her to live. She did see the reasoning in that. I know too that even though she says she is not afraid to die, she is actually very scared she will. I want to be worried about my Mother - I love her dearly. I wouldn't give that up for anything. It can get very nerve racking though... it is much like having children. Even though they grow up and leave home, they are still your children and parents continue to be concerned for them. Being a parent never ends. Being a grown child of a parent(s) doesn't end either. I seriously feel she is my responsibility just as assuredly as I used to be hers...

Hope you all had a good weekend. Our apple juice production was in full swing today. The three of us had a good system in operation and managed to make 40 pints. There are still masses of apples left on the trees and windfalls appear every time i walk out into the orchard.
Somehow iv'e got to find the time to finish off my willow project which has been put on hold.

Willow looking very bare after a massive haircut.

Cut Willow drying out.

Willow bundles hanging up in container, smells lovely !

and all this work just for these little dears

Very nice SG! It seems strange to see someone 'run' with any of my ideas! But more importantly you are really doing it! You will end up being 'my' inspiration!

Spanielgal, our orchard is a mom/pop business. Have a little more than 300 apple trees, and about that many peach trees. We sell everything from the asparagus, peach and apples right here. We don't move a step off the place. Lucky; lots of little towns around, and a LOT of big towns want to get things fresh. We're lucky. Have a website, too! http://www.freewebs.com/caincity/

Wow i was looking into willows myself! So I take it you feed them to the goats? or make fences. Not clear there. Found a way cool site for em; I'm also interested in ornamental grasses. http://www.bluestem.ca/

Looks like a good thing to grow for quick windbreaks and privacy.

Busy busy busy day today. LOTS of winesap and red delicious pickers. I guess that's how it's going to be til Thanksgiving. What they can't pick we bag and keep in the cooler. Busy is good, right? (I keep telling myself that; had to use our own porta-potti 2x's this afternoon.!) :dark:

Jim's mom will be in our prayers, Linda. Blossom you GO girl homeschooling those kids! Wish I had been better at math - would have homeschooled daughter myself!

All be good now and HI there gail!!

The bronchitis is acting up again. I felt miserable yesterday. Went to the doctor today. One of the meds she prescribed me wasn't covered by my insurance and it's $50. So I got a $5 bottle of Robitussin instead. Almost as bad, I haven't been able to go to the gym but twice in two months and have gained back almost everything that I'd lost...6 months of hard work gone in less than two months.

On the positive side (I'm trying to be more positive) Nanowrimo is next month and I'm getting ready for that. Nanowrimo is National Novel Writing Month, where you write a 50,000 word novel in the month of November. I don't know that I'll make it but it'll be fun trying.

THAT is so cool!:cool:What's it gonna be about? Romance? Horses? Horse Romance? Mystery? Intrigue? Oh, I know! The adventures of people that meet on a forum!

I'm sorry you're feeling bad. I hope you start feeling better soon so you can get on that novel. {{Insert book reading smiley here}}

Cute smiley! what is it though? Google Chrome does not tell us what things are when we hover with the mouse... grrr

I am working on a draft of interview questions for an interview I have to do for my sociology class. I am having troubles! Mostly with not asking 'yes' & 'no' questions. I'm only on question #2!! AAAAaaaahhhh

Other than that... not much...

Oh! On Saturday we got a paper bag of nice red apples from a lady from church. I got them all cut and dipped in vit c water yesterday..now I just have to finish cutting them and get drying them! I was soooo proud of myself..there were a couple worms and usually that would have been the end of that! I did them all with only the slightest shiver when I encountered a worm..ugh...

It is on the right in the Emoticons beside the post box. I think I named it readingbook. Btw, if chrome is like firefox, just put your mouse on the picture and right click, then click on properties, and look at what pops up. It gives you the link and the alternate text, which here it is : readingbook :.

Firefox doesn't give me information on the picture either unless it has a link attached. But I can click on view image...

You did good B with the worms! Mom's proud of you! :biggrinyellow:
